U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met with members of the special operations team who participated in the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, in Afghanistan, Sunday.
He also spoke before a large group of US troops in a Bagram Air Field hangar, and when he announced the "happy" news about Bergdahl, he was met with complete silence.
"This is a happy day. We got one of our own back," Hagel said cheerfully.

Hagel really is dumb as a box of rocks. That’s probably what appealed to Obama - easy to control.
First time I’ve really listened to Hagel since he was a Senator. He is not an inspiring speaker and he is a liar first and foremost in this self-serving piece of propaganda.

Among other things, (like a stronger sense of morality) Hagel could use some voice lessons in elocution and projecting of the voice while public speaking. He speaks rather softly, like Harry Reid, but mutters a lot more. I read that prior rescuers were under orders to ‘put him down’ were they to come in unexpected contact with Bergdahl. The belief was that he was capable of attacking his own rescue team members.
The pundits say they were intimidated by the Secretary of Defense. You should have seen my Drill Sergeant in basic. Now he was intimidating. After him I, almost chuckled when someone tried to ream me a new one.
This admin is utterly, completely, totally and absolutely disgusting.
There really are not words base enough to describe these people and this man.

Looks like they didnt hand pick the soldiers in the audience as well as they could have.

If that's the case, it wasn't a "rescue". They were eliminating a threat that could provide sensitive information to the enemy.
After a few months, they must have decided that he had already done all the damage he could do, and wasn't worth the risk to get him back with a tactical operation.

Chuck Hagel is a complete asshole. I detest him. He did whatever he could to hurt GWB while a Senator. He is beneath contempt. Except for his service during Vietnam he is utterly worthless.
