Then WHY didn't Congress expose it?
They are culpable TOO, if they were aware of his intention and did nothing.
I think the White House missed the details on Bergdahl and thought they could get away with releasing the monsters by positioning themselves as strongly pro-military (bringing one of ours home) while standing with the mother and father.
Unfortunately, Bergdahl’s actions, his father’s words (and Tweets), the reports from fellow soldiers, etc. are overshadowing the entire deal.
They outsmarted themselves on this one.

Oh, but by raising the possibility two years ago, that was “more than sufficient” advance notice provided to Congress.
