Live elections results. Polls close in 20 minutes!
A runoff also means more campaign spending, more hard feelings, and more negative ads, while the D sits back, keeps his money in his pocket, and bides his time. Would have been much better for the general election if one of them had won outright.
There is still an illiterate population to exploit.
Is that a comment on today's race, or on Cochran's entire political career?

Warren’s stragglers. Holmes is suspiciously late now
“Oh, they loved seeing Greg Brannon (one of the most decent men running this cycle) lose. How they crowed purists! you want Democrats to win! Hes not electable!
The silence is deafening now.”

Maybe they’ve all gone to Holmes county to help the Cochran campaign manufacture ballots/votes for Cochran.
I’ll drink to that ^^
Admin told us to knock off the personal attacks, but I assume I’m allowed to point out that you are lying.
My candidate (and I presume yours despite your denial) appears to not have won tonight, but did get more votes than Cochran. On to the runoff.
Maybe you are not a liar, but rather just have trouble with reading comprehension.
Whatever the future holds for McDaniel, tonight’s race was historic.
I’m reading that the GOPe’s may not trash McDaniel very much
in the coming runoff because they still want a majority in the senate.
I guess we will see.
As I have said, I think Cochran’s done. He will concede the entire election this week.
Well Rove didn’t win here tonight.
Ughh, hoping remaining votes push McDaniel over 50%. & absentee still out there??

But better a runoff than a Cochran win.

“This doesnt really say, but it is something about Thomas Carey, just not enough to tell us who or what he is.”
That was my take on reading it. Seems like some semi-religious, non-educated dolt that Boss Hogg dredged up to try and siphon votes off of McDaniel. I mean the guy is 67 and doesn’t seem to have any political history.
Absentee will be counted tomorrow presumably, but there are not many from what I’ve heard. It was, all in all, a low turnout margin even for a midterm primary.
What happens if Cochrane decides to forgoe the runoff and just drops out? Does one still need to be held?
Given how badly and publically he’s messed up over the last few weeks, casting doubt on his ability to run a successful general election campaign (not to mention actually being effective for another six years as Senator) that would seem the right and honorable thing to do.
B. Obama (i) | 83.9% | 6,775 |
M. Romney | 15.7% | 1,264 |
With so few GOP voters in that county, it is virtually impossible for Cochran to make up 7000 votes.
Maybe you have for at least five years just found yourself at the wrong forum.
There are dozens of moderate republican places for you to be besides here. You invoke ‘devil’s advocate’, but you’re just straight GOP-e. Ya lost and you can’t handle the truth. Go where you’re needed.
