Here is an interview Chris McDaniel did with Glenn Beck
Anyone on the ground in Mississippi??
Hoping the old guard gets the boot tonight..the establishment needs a good kick in the arse.
When I voted around 2:00 I was the lone voter in the room. Based on I believe McDaniel will carry my county (Desoto), but I can’t get a sense of the race elsewhere in the state.
I “feel” uneasy about McDaniel’s chances considering the emphasis that MS people have long placed on incumbency.
Where do you vote? I was the first vote at Desoto Central this morning
I just voted in Washington County, in the Delta. I would say turnout was light-moderate. I saw more younger 20-30 somethings and fewer older voters than usual. Some older voters (in their 70’s) admitted they voted for McDaniel, which surprised me. I had to show a photo ID to vote for the first time...’bout time, yay Mississippi.
The Jackson, MS Clarion-Ledger has live election results, statewide and by county here: http://www.clarionledger.com/longform/news/2014/06/03/mississippi-congressional-election-results/9925563/
I vote in Olive Branch.
And I was trying to say “based on what I’m seeing” I believe McDaniel should win Desoto, but I have no idea how to judge the race elsewhere.
As of 8:38pm:
Chris McDaniel
49.2% 32,247
Thad Cochran (Incumbent)
49.2% 32,242
Thomas Carey
1.6% 1,031
DeSoto just went to McDaniel 57-41
looks like Thad C. is or has won :(
Yeah, he’s up 3% with 60% of precincts reporting. It’s very unlikely he’ll lose. Too bad.
On the other hand, there will be a runoff election if Cochran doesn’t get a majority. He’s at 50.3% right now.
What’s the margin of recount?
McDaniel just took the lead 49.95% to 48.5%!
Holy crap. McDaniel is ahead by a small margin now. Can’t believe he’s made up a 5,000 vote deficit.
Ted Cruz needs some help in the Senate! Send McDaniel.
Let’s see if he holds it.
Now he just needs to cross the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff.
