It is well known that Senators and Congressmen enrich themselves through book deals, speaking engagements, campaign finance cash, etc. When Lyndon Johnson was president, he was open in stealing money from the public treasury, a fact that even his strongest supporters acknowledge. Johnson left office with a net worth of tens of millions of dollars (if not more), which was a lot of money in 1969. When Nixon told the American people that he was not a crook, he was referring to Lyndon Johnson's corruption.
Is Lyndon Johnson the only person who enriched himself during the presidency, or are there others who did the same thing? If the media had evidence of such corruption, would they report it?

The only president that I am certain stole nothing is William Henry Harrison. He died less than a month after being inaugurated and did not have time to fill his pockets even once.
They’re aren’t too many presidents that didn’t turn out to be POS corrupt leaders. Makes ya wonder how we made it so far.
...and personally...I think that POS LBJ had something to do with the assassination of his POS predecessor.

Of all of the modern Presidents, Harry Truman seemed to retire into relative obscurity for holding such powerful offices once his terms were over. He moved back into his Missouri home, I think, and his secret service detail bunked across the street.
Perhaps he was the last a kind and all that followed afterward reaped big benefits for holding the office one way or another.
