In June 2012, fearless Rolling Stone contributing editor Michael Hastings wrote the definitive first account of Bowe Bergdahl the young American soldier who was captured by the Taliban and became the last American prisoner of war. Hastings, the journalist who brought down the career of General Stanley McChrystal in these pages, died in a car accident one year later. Bergdahl was freed this weekend. Hastings' incredible story is available in full here:
The mother and father sit at the kitchen table in their Idaho farmhouse, watching their son on YouTube plead for his life. The Taliban captured 26-year-old Bowe Bergdahl almost three years ago, on June 30th, 2009, and since that day, his parents, Jani and Bob, have had no contact with him. Like the rest of the world, their lone glimpses of Bowe the only American prisoner of war left in either Iraq or Afghanistan have come through a series of propaganda videos, filmed while he's been in captivity.

Are you really a prisoner of war if you deliberately walk int the enemies camp?
He’s a f...ing traitor (read without the ellipses).
This is apparently the first place he posted this comment, and it's been repeated many times.
If tha narrative supports the traitor Democrat party and its dear leader? Yes, Yes the media says yes it is.
Stand by for this idiot to be pointed out and standing up at the next (pathetic ) state of the union speech.
Hell. im expecting a ticker tape parade.
Thats what they do, the double and triple down.
Not for long. Ubama just turned it into a Musloid industry.
I read another article that said he was asking Afghans directions on how to get to the Taliban. I don’t know if that is true, but it wouldn’t surprise me. How many years did John Walker-Lindh get? Something like 20 years? And he wasn’t even in the Army, and here libs are all ready to treat Bergdahl as a hero.
He was a PFC when he deserted his post, and not just deserted but went over to the enemy, and was subsequently promoted to Sergeant by the military that he betrayed during the time that he was with the Taliban consorting with them.
Are we nuts???
Hannity was saying cut him some slack, it could have been Stockholm Syndrome.
I immediately turned him off.
The guy supposedly walked away from his post to seek these Taliban out, so he did not suffer Stockholm anything.
The saddest thing is that to them he is a hero, while they are happy to defe...........oh hell sometimes you just have to use the right word, they are happy to CRAP on American soldiers who faithfully performed their duty, whether or not they personally agreed with it.
This is what happens when you eat too much of your own bullshit: you start to like the taste.
Then you get a job at Rolling Stone.
We gave up five dangerous, high level prisoners ***IN VIOLATION OF US LAW*** - a law I’m sure Rolling Stone was all in favor of, for peace activist who abandoned his post.
People were killed searching for this clown.
Hannity is a damn idiot. I heard that very same line from that pussy literally when surfing through the channels on the way home. Him gushing how he was happy for the family.
I will admit though, I was impressed he didn’t somehow turn it all around and make it about himself along the line. He used to do construction when he was young and buy some Ruth’s Chris while you’re at it.
LOL! My father told me the same thing, I asked him why do you listen to that guy? He’s like a cheap Rush imitation but liberal.
I had Rush on earlier, then had some lunch and Hannity was on when I returned.
Note to self: Turn Rush off early to avoid Hannity.
After reading this it struck me that the next step of this regime will be to pull in Colon Bowell to offer excuses that this was just a confused young soldier who needed help. It will be a failure of his immediate chain of command, and ultimately, policies of the Bush admin, blah, blah, blah.
