Donald Sterling, embattled owner of the Clippers, has kept a rather low profile since racial comments he made first became public.
Sunday morning, he raised eyebrows when he showed up to attend church services at a predominately black church in South Los Angeles.
KCAL9'ss Adrianna Weingold spoke to members of the congregation who were a little unsure about Sterlings visit.
With the choir singing, Donald Sterling walked into the Praises of Zion Baptist Church on S. San Pedro Street. Senior Pastor J. Benjamin Harwick welcomed Sterling publicly during the service.
Stand up brother Sterling, were going to give you a round of applause, Hardwick said.

If you have been a politically-minded, PR-seeking hypocrite your entire life, its tough to change those habits when you are in your 80’s.
How about a little walkin’ around money for the Rev!
I can understand the need for Christian forgiveness.
However, Greeting him is one thing, but why the need to applaud?
One minute, he is on death’s door with Alzheimer’s and then he shows up somewhere.
Idiocracy is creeping in.
He has begun his “redemption” with big payoffs!
Al and Jessie are shoving to get at the head of the line!
What? Sterling did What?
Dadgum NBA needs to amend their ruling. To prohibit Sterling from attending any NBA games. And church too.
Stand up brother Sterling, were going to give you a round of applause, Hardwick said.

“Brother Sterling”???
Gee. I must have missed the article where Sterling converted from Judaism to Christianity.
He probably dropped a big fat check in the collection plate. Applause are easy to buy.
scouting for a new team?
Were not forgetting what he said but as children of God we are forgiving, she said.
Good for them!
I’m weird:
I wasn’t horrified when I heard his original uncouth statements.
But THIS?
This insults me way, waaaaay more than all the other stuff.
I find it amazing that this could please anyone.
It makes me remember that time at the height of the Monica Mess, when Bill went to Church with that ridiculously huge Bible. Upon exit, he waved it around triumphantly.
I guess that made him really great?
Or something.
I am just curious, was he there for absolution for racial comments or adultery??
“One minute, he is on deaths door with Alzheimers and then he shows up somewhere.”
Maybe he thought he was showing up for the Montgomery bus boycott———or something. Alzheimer’s is tricky.
.
Multitasking.
