Only hours after appearing at a press conference to give thanks for the freeing of his POW son in exchange for five top Taliban leaders, Bob Bergdahl returned to Twitter to promote a Guardian video in which family members lobby for the release of five Tunisians held at Guantanamo Bay.
Earlier, Bergdahl had apparently deleted a tweet reading, “I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners.”

The father, I believe, took this pathetic “feel good” story and turned it into a PR disaster. I heard Ralph Peters say today that he thought Obama did not really pay much attention to the backstory of this guy and his deserter son - in other words, another stupid Obama misstep. I know most of us think this was a deliberate act of Muslim superiority but Peters’ remarks did make me look at it from a different perspective.
This creepy couple is suffering from Cindy Sheehan Syndrome. 15 Minutes of hating America on national tv! And just like Cindy, they’ll disappear into the garbage can of history wondering what happened to all their supporters.
