In his most sweeping effort to date to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change, the Obama administration will unveil a new rule from the Environmental Protection Agency on Monday limiting the amount of carbon pollution from coal power plants.
The rule will impose a cap on the level of emissions existing power plants are permitted and it will provide each state a flexible series of options to implement that cap. Among other options, power plants will be allowed to increase the energy they derive from renewable sources like wind and solar power, adopt new technology to increase energy efficiency, and join or create a statewide cap-and-trade system to effectively tax the excess carbon emissions.
The total effect of those options could cut the amount of carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants by up to 20 percent.
President Obama explained the importance of the new rules in his weekly address on Saturday.
"Today, about 40 percent of America's carbon pollution comes from power plants. But right now, there are no national limits to the amount of carbon pollution that existing plants can pump into the air we breathe -- none," he said. "We limit the amount of toxic chemicals like mercury, sulfur, and arsenic that power plants put in our air and water. But they can dump unlimited amounts of carbon pollution into the air. It's not smart, it's not safe, and it doesn't make sense."
"That's why, a year ago, I directed the Environmental Protection Agency to build on the efforts of many states, cities, and companies, and come up with commonsense guidelines for reducing dangerous carbon pollution from our power plants," the president continued. "This week, we're unveiling these proposed guidelines,

I intend to do the same wherever liberal republicans are blocking conservative legislation, or supporting the liberal agenda.

Considering that God has been thrown out of the public square and our culture while the Faithful have sat on their hands and remained silent . I do not find any biblical examples of Providence coming to the aid of a people who have gone astray and abandoned their faith and country to the wicked.
Of course God is bigger than our adversaries. But when a nation fails to repent and practices Isaiah 30:9-11 on a national scale, your admonition would rely on the strength of our own political countenance of which I have no confidence.
I had forgotten that both the House and the Senate, under Pelosi and Reed, voted down Cap and Trade. Thus bh0 is ‘rebelling’ against them.
“...If you are anti-carbon, you are anti-life...”
Well, we are talking about Obama aren’t we? He’s as anti-life as they come.
God did for about 1000 years with Israel.
Sadly, I expect Romney would have done something similar to this. We are so screwed.
Be prepared to see $8 gas. The price of EVERYTHING will go up, significantly, and anything EXCEPT this will be blamed for it. In fact, I can already hear Obama blasting oil companies for the rising prices of gas, blaming fatcat millionaires and billionaires etc...
If it’s not in the Constitution as something they are explicitly allowed to do, it doesn’t matter why the government is reaching into your wallets. They are still doing it.
This is economic suicide driven by hubris, faulty data and science corrupted by money.
No, it’s just another way for the government to guilt trip you into giving them more money and more power over you. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not a conspiracy. It’s a con game. A scam.
“I have a phone and a pen...”
They’re not sleeping. They’re in on the game.
God repeatedly ALLOWED a wicked Israel to be conquered by her enemies, taken into captivity and a remnant of the their children to be freed and brought back to His Land after many years.
The cycle was so numerous and Israel so adulterous that God essentially gave her a divorce.
“I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery” - Jeremiah 3:8
America will suffer the same fate and worse - because America had in her His Holy Spirit among His people which Ancient Israel and Judah DID NOT have access to.
In short, we knew better and it will be more tolerable in the day of Judgment for other nations than ours.
Thank you for the video.
Anyway, that was before the redemptive grace of the Lord Jesus Christ who ushered in the freedom-declaring New Covenant, which is ignored by too many believers (not unlike the freedom-declaring Constitution which is ignored by too many Americans), whereby God has declared, "I remember their sins and inequities no more" (Heb 8:10). You may remember your, others', and America's sins and iniquities. The devil may remember them. But God does not, because they were all judged on the body of Jesus Christ on the cross and God is holy and righteous to not judge the same sins twice.
All environmentalism is essentially Communism. It’s much easier to control the body politic if you deny them transportation and electricity. Environmentalism first attacks the need for modern transportation, then they start claiming that “animals deserve rights” and “horse farts cause global warming” in order to justify their attempts to deny the right to a horse and buggy. I eagerly await the Democrat justification for why people shouldn’t be allowed to have personal water mills.
Your statement is moot without repentance.
This nation is not repentant anymore than ancient Israel was.
In fact, we may be more wicked - and often justify the sin and say that because we believe in Christ, we can do whatever we please because Grace abounds.
Scripture teaches that God will remember our sin no more upon repentance. The pulpits in America are silent on the subject, and the culture testifies against us for our capitulation and justification for sin.
You discount the large number of praying Christians in this country. America’s sins are not going to stop God from his grace and mercy towards her. If they did stop God, we’d all be lost. The goodness of God leads to repentance.
That is the ONLY reason God has not allowed the natural consequences of what this nation has sown to bring us to absolute ruin.
But it’s coming. God forgives upon repentance, but never takes away the consequences of the sin.
There is not a single Republic in all history that has not committed suicide and allowed by God to fall into ruination.
Feels like you're more comfortable with the Old Testament condemnation of people and nations because of sin. But the New Covenant and New Testament in his blood declares "no condemnation" and grace for our failings.
Also feels like each may not be able to convince the other here. Both of us have a degree of support. My stand is on the New Covenant of grace and God's mercy for America. Yours is otherwise. I have strong Biblical support but also, for obvious reasons, I also sure hope I'm right and you're wrong.
