House Intel Chair Mike Rogers: Obama ´Violated the Law´ with Bergdahl Deal

On Sunday’s “State of the Union” on CNN, House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) explained to moderator Candy Crowley why the Obama administration’s deal to secure American prisoner of war Bowe Bergdahl’s release for five Guantanamo detainees was a bad deal and broke law.

According to Rogers, this sends the wrong message to terrorists around the world.

“[W]e have other means to use, and remember, they came to Congress about a year ago and we're thinking about doing these negotiations. And by the way, they didn't get a very warm reception from either party in the national security committees. They said this is fraught with trouble. So this all of a sudden comes a year later. They didn't notify Congress. I think they violated the law in two different places here. Why is because this is a -- this is morphing into different places.

Any law that ties the president’s hands in foreign affairs and “pardon” power is unconstitutional anyway. Mike Rogers is blowing smoke.

The fate and events surrounding Bowe Bergdahl and the bloody murders released by Mr. Obama are inflammatory topics, but relatively minor, except for the Americans that the freed Muslims will kill.
Mr. Rogers is correct that the law was clearly violated and the violation defended by the Nunc Pro Tunc (Not For Time)doctrine.
If it is OK to clearly and intentionally break the law in the Bergdahl scam, because there just was not enough time to do it legally, then all the other laws are also cosmetic.
There cannot be an election, there just is not time.
There cannot be a delay for laws to be passed by Congress to raise taxes or spend money, there just is not time.
The Congress and Courts will have to accept Presidential Decrees as the Law of the Land, there just is not time to wait...

I realize you are speaking rhetorically. It does matter. America matters. The rule of law matters, freedom, liberty, truth, integrity, honesty, loyalty to country, patriotism all matter!

If you or I and other patriots lay down on this country, it WILL die. This is a very dark period in America.

It is up to us to keep the faith. I don't know what's going to happen in the near future, but I do know that millions of Americans are ready to come to her aid. Are you?

My guess is Yes. It matters...all of this matters. Truth and freedom will win. How may times in history have those standing for truth seem to have been on their last leg, down to their last gasp to then come back and prevail?

I'm not going to just give up my freedom and my country to these jackasses. We have elections coming in the fall. 2016 right around the corner...let's do what we can to beat them at the ballot box so we don't have to beat them on the battle field.

Well, of course, it matters to us. It doesn't matter to Congress. If it did, they would act. Instead, we have a few patriots on The Hill talking about Obama's long train of law-breaking while Boehner and Cantor cry about the need for immigration reform.
