Herman Cain says he might run for president again

NEW ORLEANS -- Herman Cain, who ended his 2012 presidential campaign amid allegations of multiple affairs, said Saturday that he might run for president again in 2016.

Cain, in a speech at the Republican Leadership Conference here, brought up the prospect of another run toward the end of his speech. He then suggested he would do it if he were called by God.

“I do not know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future," the Georgia businessman said. "And I trust in God.”

Cain, 68, was a brief front-runner for the GOP nomination in 2011 but dropped out, before any actual votes were cast, in early December of that year.

Denied doing anything.

He 'rejected the allegations'. He never denied. It was a word game.

He should have stood up to his accusers, it made it look like he knew she had the goods on him and he was guilty.....

That's because they probably did ... and he probably was. The same people that believed all the Clinton women just knew all these women were lying. yeah right But let's take the other possibility ... he really was innocent and all those women were lying. Face it. It is very hard politically to survive such an onslaught unless you can definitely prove a conspiracy that results in people going to jail.

I think that’s the idea.

Cain, Santorum, Carson and Joe Blow all running to split the conservative vote so Bush or any GOPe candidate the insiders choose wins the process.

Get behind one candidate early.

Cruz, Palin, Levin, Beck etc. need to meet early and decide that one candidate is the candidate and make the case.

RE: I am sure he is being pressed by the RNC to run again as the token black.

Is the Republican party so pathetic that all they have is Herman Cain?

What about Ben Carson or Allen West?

Really?

Cain lost me with the 9-9-9 plan.

The socialists in the DNC have tried for a couple of decades to figure out a way to add a national sales tax on top of the income tax.

Responsible conservatives argued they would only support a national sales tax if an amendment were passed barring there ever being a simultaneous income tax and national sales tax because the two could easily spiral out of control.

Cain, as a ‘conservative’ Republican offered, perhaps unconsciously or ineptly, to do that dirty work for the socialists by offering the 9-9-9.

As I argued then, if we propose and win any type of 9-9-9 plan, the left would eventually take that to 19-19-19 and perhaps 29-29-29.

The income tax is a bad idea. A flat tax or consumption tax would be a more equitable and far more economically sound tax plan. Combining the two is a bad, bad idea.

Herman could make a good Cabinet member, but POTUS he’ll never be.

Santorum did very well in 2012 and should be one of the front runners in 2016.

Why is that ? He should have a base of support from 2016, he won Iowa before and should do it again, already shook a lot of hands in NH and then it is on to SC where he should run very strong.

I think he goes into FL winning and if anyone wants to stop him, it will have to be by beating him in FL.

Perhaps Cain’s radio listeners have dropped which could mean his contract will not be renewed and he’s looking for a new gig.

“Allen West — Dr. Benjamin Carson “

The left will execute them both as Uncle Toms and by execute, I mean literally shoot them dead.

I was seriously considering Cain as my candidate for president and listening to him very carefully. He was talking about what he intended to do as president and he said something like “but blacks are worse off so I must help them first”. It was just a quick comment sort of out of the side of his mouth.

That may not be his exact words but I dropped him like a hot rock. After that his woman troubles cropped up but I had already moved on.

?

West sounds good, but has little else necessary for a good POTUS, Carson sounds good, but has zero of that necessary for POTUS.

For myself and probably a lot of Americans, we’ve had enough of that experiment in guilt and reparations. Let the liberals own that side of the street.

Cruz, Palin, Levin, Beck etc. need to meet early and decide that one candidate is the candidate and make the case.

While that is much better than having democrat crossovers picking the GOPe candidate from the remains of a primary fight, it has potential problems also. The main problem is that none of the people in your list will put their egos aside to do the right thing.

I didn't hear that, but it would not have changed my mind much. Cain could not handle adversity much like Fred Thompson. There are many bad things about the Republican primary system, particularly crossovers. But it does weed out the people that can't handle adversity.

Forget it, that ticket couldn’t get 5 percent of the African American vote.

When Cain was in the primaries most of the debate was about the debt (9-9-9). Then he dropped out without a fight. Screw you Cain.
