The Day Before the Mass Exodus at White House, Jay Carney Got Grilled on VA Scandal
Newsbusters ^ | 5/30/14 | Scott Whitlock

On Thursday, the day before a double resignation at the White House, ABC's Jon Karl grilled Jay Carney over Barack Obama's confidence in Eric Shinseki. Less than 24 hours later, the press secretary and Veterans Administration head had both quit. During the back-and-forth, Karl pressed, "But does the President right now have confidence in Sec. Shinseki, yes or no? It's a very simple yes or no question. You told us last week he did have confidence, does he have confidence now?" [See video below.]

Carney dodged and responded, "Jon, the President addressed this question from the podium." The journalist pointed out, " But he wasn't asked directly if he had confidence in him." The now-ex-press secretary dismissed this as "word play." Karl continued to push, insisting, "It's a basic question. It's not wordplay. Its a central question: Does he have confidence in a member of his cabinet?"

I’d like to feel sorry for him - what with having to defend probably one of the most inept, ill-educated, and immoral pieces of excrement to infect the White House.

However, I really don’t.

I regard him as slime only slightly less smelly than the dork-O-dent.

I fully expect he will to to somewhere with no intellectual or honesty standards - such as Harvard, Yale, etc.

I would like to know if Carney is getting tossed under the bus for the outing of the CIA station chief in Kabul.

WH Press Secretary boy Carnival looks tired and I’m tired of him.
He can GTH as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t want to ever hear from him again, but that’s not possible in this current world of ours. He won’t just go away.

“I would like to know if Carney is getting tossed under the bus for the outing of the CIA station chief in Kabul.”

You could be right. Obama and Carney made a big production out of hugging each other today. Something is going on here, but it could be he doesn't want to get subpoenaed in any one of the ongoing White House scandals and is trying to distance himself before he has to tell what he knows under oath.

“Why feel sorry for one of the biggest liars around?”

Because that is his job. Unfortunately Obama is caught up in so many scandals, if Carney told the truth, Obama would have been forced from office the next day.

If Carney didn’t want to lie he didn’t need to take the job.

These people do a lot of harm to millions. No.reason in the world to.feel sorry for them.

Because that is his job.

Just like the rest of this administration, Carney was in way over his head in this position.

Would love to see his medical records...
It’s not just way over his head - - It’s way inside his head. I think it borders on a medical break down...

You're right, or at/on one of the idiot networks and that's okay with me. I only watch Fox News.

I have no pity nor remorse for Jay Carney. I would like to contrast Carney with Tony Snow when he was Press Secretary for George W. Bush.

As was his duty and job he always put the best light on the Bush Administration. A press secretary has no duty to lie for the president to the American people. Tony Snow did not lie to the American people. Jay Carney has repeatedly lied, knowing he lied and knowing that the press knew he was lying and knew he was lying at the behest and orders of President Obama.

Tony Snow was a man of integrity. I also know that Tony Snow was never asked to lie for President Bush. The reason I know this is that as a man of integrity, Tony Snow would have resigned on the same day.

Sadly cancer took Tony Snow long before his time. We need more men like Tony Snow.
