President Obama announced today that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney will depart as press secretary.
Obama, who interrupted the White House briefing as Carney was taking questions, said Principal Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest will take his place. Carney seemed surprised by the interruption.
Carney said he would leave soon, probably the second or third week of June. He will leave the White House but says he has not decided where he will go.
Its been an amazing experience, just, so fulfilling, Carney said, thanking the president and vice president.

He was starting to crack under the pressure, and wants to have at least a shred of credibility left.. WAY too late for that and ANY self respect for the sniveling communist, professional-liar, paid apologist!

Wow. Just a couple of days after Hillary's secret lunch with 0bama at the WH, and on a day that Hillary leaks the Benghazi portion of her new book.. Hmmmm..
Either Hillary is stealing Carney to work on her campaign OR he needed to step down so as not to put Hillary at risk with any future questions about her on Benghazi.
Hillary visits WH then Carney is gone. Suspicious timing here, as usual.

You really have to appreciate what a phenomenally proficient liar Josh Earnest is first.

Nope. Not a remote possibility of that. Look for Carney to be called to make a deposition to the House Select Committee on Benghazi. (Wish Trey gets a chance at him.)
To: Resettozero
Hillary had Carney fired to shut him up on Benghazi.

Josh Earnest
"Immediately following college, he worked in the 1997 Houston Mayoral Election for Lee Brown.[3] Earnest served as a congressional aide to Marion Berry from 2002-2003 after working on Michael Bloomberg's first mayoral campaign. He then joined Senator Obama's presidential campaign as Obama's Iowa Communications Director. He also later served as Obama's Texas Communications Director during the primaries."

I fail to see how this is a good thing. Now Carney’s intern gets the spot. It’s not like honesty will beam from the podium from now on.

Hillary had Carney fired to shut him up on Benghazi.
I've seen that idea posted elsewhere on FR but cannot see how that will shut him up; depositions are in Carney's future.
Hillary's drinking and Bill's fast-approaching senility are not combining now for that old one-two political punch.
If anything, Carney wanted out before he was Vince Fostered.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
I had the same thought. What would drive Obama to show up at the briefing unannounced and make such an announcement? My first thought is fear and intimidation, as in Carney had better keep his mouth shut.
I wonder if Carney is on Gowdy’s list of people to chat with?

Josh Earnest I suspect there will be quite a bit more josh in his presentations than there will be earnest.
