When Insurance isn’t based on Risk, it no longer can be called Insurance.
Remember, nothing in Life is Free. It may be “included”, but it’s never Free.
We pay $1,650 a Month for an HMO. Two people, ages 58 and 60 through my Retirement Plan. Doctor Co-pays are $50 and they were half that last Year.
It does include about $150 a month for Dental and Vision Coverage, so I guess I can’t complain. /s
It went up about $300 a Month from 2013 and it will probably hit about $2,000 a Month when the Illegal Obama “delays” expire the end of this Year.
Nothing but good news here in the K.C. Household since my Leukemia returned with a vengeance last Month.
That’s why I’ve had Health Insurance since I was 18 Years Old, over 42 Years now. Never used it for the first 20 Years, but that’s why it’s called “Insurance”.
“It does include about $150 a month for Dental and Vision Coverage, so I guess I cant complain.”
And don’t forget free birth control pills for your wife!
A primary care doc might take cash, but ob/gyns and surgeons will often refuse it due to the liability you are taking on with a cash patient. If there is a complication and the patient needs another specialist or another surgery for the complication it can get very messy. (same thing can happen with Medicaid as there are some Medicaid plans which do not have certain specialists on them.
You SHOULD blame the insurance companies. They went along with this monstrosity in order to get their hands on the government subsidies. This is crony capitalism at its worst. Although, if our current political landscape doesn’t change they may live to regret it as a single payer system will likely put them out of business.
Their deductibles haven’t even been discussed yet.
Well said. Under Obamacare, "insurance" companies (i.e., Wealth Transfer Agencies (WTA's)) are prohibited from using risk factors (e.g., preexisting conditions) to make underwriting decisions, and premiums are based on sex, age, and income. It's not insurance.
It’s a welfare program/ transfer payment
there were practices that accepted HMO plans, but the doctors rotated and Rachel wanted a relationship with only one physician.

Uppity peasant
The Health Insurance Underwriters of today are the Buggy Whip Craftsmen of yesteryear.
I cover most of the costs of my own insurance at work, and my deductible is nowhere near 13K.
Still in favor of Ocare?
I love these stories of liberals getting it up the ol’ wazoo.
And then there is the concept of the root cellar. :-P
You’re absolutely right, and I wasn’t calling you a fool (I went back and read my post. I should do that more often, before posting. :-) ).
Am so sorry about the Leukemia. Yeah, ours was less too...then they starting talking Obamacare and it started ticking up.
Wishing you good health.
They’re supposed to be adults.
Politicians came and announced that it was vitally important that 30 million more people get health insurance.
The good news was that despite insuring 30 million more people, insurance would cost lest for almost everybody else.
We’d also save money doing it this way.
It doesn’t even make any sense. Any adult that fell for this was just very gullible, or very stupid.
Why complain now? You’ve been had.
That’s not a large garden ;) Ours is about 65 feet by 110 feet. We have four kids to feed. We also have 6 hens for eggs and another 5 chicks that should be laying by the end of August. I forgot to mention there used to be grapevines on on property but they died off before we moved in, but we use the posts and wires for our blackberries, raspberries, and green beans.
Yes, we have no life this time of year until fall between keeping up the garden and canning/freezing, but we eat pretty well from it.
Thank you for your kind thoughts.
The Chemo is a bit rougher on me than I remember, but it has been almost five years since the last time I fell out of Remission.
My “numbers” really suck this time. Getting old will do that to you.
