On Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to fire back against school meal critics who say the program to make school lunches healthier has gone too far.
FOX 4′s Katie Ferrell reported Tuesday morning on the reaction from Kansas City-area parents to the more nutritious school lunches.
Among the comments:
The food provided as school lunch is not even edible. My 5-year old isnt picky and she cries if we accidentally forget to pack her lunch, said Jaye Anne on our facebook page.
Yes it motivates us to send actual healthy food from home so our child doesnt have to eat school lunches, said Jennifer Smith.

My daughter had lunch with my granddaughter and grandson one day. She told me that she would not feed that crap to her dog. Her kids will not eat the food. So she packs them a lunch everyday.

When I was in school back in 1952-1964, all the meals were excellent EXCEPT those at Aztec, NM. Kids were constantly throwing it back up on their trays.
That slop was so bad even Micehlle’s would have been an improvement.
Ir was so bad it is still burned in my memory after 58 years. I had mom make me a lunch after I also threw that slop back up on my tray.
Absolute best was Denver Co.

I know a certain 5 year-old who needs re-education. Left in the public school system she will be in just a few short years.

How do you forget to pack your child a lunch? Seems that is one of the items on
the primary check list of things to do.

Noticed at the link that some Obamabot posted the first comment, praising the wonders of Moochelle's fabulous compulsory menu and insulting the intelligence of apostates.

Solution: A prescription filled out by a family friend that is an MD that says he/she is on a special, medical diet. Give copies to principal, teacher, nurse and tell them to STFU about what is in his/her lunch.

“Healthy food from home?” I’d be packing her lunch with Twinkies, Little Debbies, and Coke. She could probably make a small fortune selling them on the black market.

I was going to ask, how does a person “accidentally forget” to pack her child’s lunch?

And Hey, the only time I ever ate school lunch was when we
begged Mom and Dad for money for pizza day or Spaghetti day.
School lunch generally sucked, but Pizza and Spagets was
pretty darn good. We had a great lunch lady.
I call her Mom # 2 to this day
