Thousands of bikers roared through the nations capitol on Sunday for a Ride for Freedom. The Rolling Thunder displayed American flags in a display of respect for those veterans who lost their lives in the nations wars.
The Rolling Thunder will take part in the annual National Memorial Day Parade today.
God bless you all!

Enough already with these motorcycles every year. Those of us who live here have to put up with their noise and traffic jams. I don’t see why a horde of motorcycles somehow commemorates veterans. Fortunately, I think most of these bikers are aging out. WTOP reported this morning the number of bikers is down significantly from the past few years.
And this is why Hussein fled to Afghanistan. So as to acknowledge that he hears the sounds of the veterans.
A pathetic post at best and if you don’t know what it’s about then you’re clueless to begin with and hoping the folks doing it are getting to old is just as asinine.
I’ve been doing this for 18 years running and will continue.
Dick pretty much sums it up.
You better move. DC is America’s parade ground.
Thanks for saying it for me.
If you don’t get what this is all about then you are on the wrong site.
We watched about three miles of these folks ride down our main drag here in Overland Park KS at about 6:00 p.m. last year on the Friday before the ride in DC. They come from all over the country. It was an amazing sight.
Well, ‘proud’ retired GOVERNMENT employee, you definitely are Pathetic.
Of course, you are entitled to your opinion and in the same vein I am entitled to me.
Enough already with these a$$hole$ like you every day.
You may or may not have served but you sort of remind me of a pencil pushing geek who has never contributed ANYTHING to society yet you probably didn’t mind the FREE days off that honored our Country, Flag and Veterans.
I am entitled to me. ?????

to mine....
Besides, it’s Memorial Day (when we honor our war dead) not Veterans Day.
PS: Loud motorcycles are a public nuisance. One makes as much noise as a hundred automobiles or quality motorcycles. I’m feeling cranky, so I’m letting the narcissistic baby boomers who need attention for their fart noises have it today.
Enough already with these motorcycles every year.
Freerepublic’s posting rules do not allow me to write what I think of you and your statement.
you probably didnt mind the FREE days off that honored our Country, Flag and Veterans.
It’s to honor our war dead. Not the country (July 4) flag (June 14), or veterans (Nov 11).
And the freedom I’m grateful for is enjoyed every day. A vacation day is something I earned for myself. Don’t confuse vacations and freedom.
The elitist Washington DC crowd needs to be disturbed every now and then. It would be fine with me if they shut that place down 365 days per year every year.
That “Noise” is the sound of freedom.
It sounds better than Loud Rap music and police sirens.
Ive been doing this for 18 years running and will continue.
Dick pretty much sums it up.
Thanks for saying what I was thinking...
Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

In what you cited from me, I said ‘FREE dayS off’.
My comment was though he(she) may not agree with everything being done, they don’t mind the ‘day off’.
Rolling Thunder is in honor of our Nations Dead and the Missing and unaccounted for POW’s/MIA’s
