Far right?

Here in the US they are considered a terrorist. Does that mean France will be deemed a terrorist country? /s

Le Pen is in first place in the posted election results, getting 25 percent of the vote. The center-right UMP of former President Nicolas Sarkozy, had 21 percent. The Socialists (the current French ruling party) are at 13%.

Across Europe, the anti-EU conservatives appear to have won big.

The party platform has changed under the new leadership. They are anti-EU, anti-Muslim immigration, socially conservative. However, they are "Right-wing populist".

But we educated conservatives know that the NAZI was a liberal/left part, not a conservative/right party.

National socialists
Hated free enterprise
Hated religion
Socialist medicine
Cradle-to-grave entitlements from the state
Pro gun control
Pro abortion
Pro euthanasia
Pro genetic engineering
Spying on the citizenry

Read Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascists for a detailed study of why the current left wing of the DNC is very closely aligned with the ideology of the NAZIs.

Maligning conservatives with the “NAZI” ad hominem attack was successful even though it was little more than “projection” from the left.

Exactly so. See the two-paragraph quote by Hayek on my FR profile page, it’s the third one time. It is a great summary of the relationship between socialists, communists, fascists, and a liberal of the old school, aka a conservative.

>>Maligning conservatives with the “NAZI” ad hominem attack was successful even though it was little more than “projection” from the left.

It went far beyond that. A good chunk of the American Left were supporters of Hitler in the run up to our entry into WWII. After all, they were taking their lead from Stalin and the Communists in the Soviet Union, who were allied with Hitler from pre-war, thru the dismemberment of Poland, until the Germans invaded the USSR in 1941. Then that subset of out Left quickly changed their tune.

Post-WWII, to hide this reality, they started the big lie that the Nazis were somhow “right wing.”

Yes, the results are in.

FAR RIGHT NATIONAL FRONT WINS BIG IN FRANCE IN EU ELECTIONS ~ SOCIALISTS WIPED OUT.

FN 25%

UMP 20.3

PS 14%

*** FRENCH POLITICS AND CULTURE PING LIST ***

*** FREEPMAIL ME IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ***

Stay informed about the French elections in detail.

Please keep in mind that the FN, the far right of the Le Pen family in France has nothing in common with the right and conservatism in America.

This is, IMO, a protest vote against the failure of the ruling Socialist Party concerning insecurity, immigration and incompetence, a failure to re-institute secure borders, high taxation, and lowered standard of living. France has huge problems, but the Statist, totalitarian, program of the FN does not offer a real solution. It doesn’t deal with the underlying structural weakness of the Vème République, and adds to the mix, anti-Americanism, anti-capitalist, xenophobia and anti semitism that brought France to the brink of extinction in WWII.

A major message of this election is that the Left in France is on life support, and dying. How can François Hollande, whose Socialist Party only got 14% of the vote, continue in office until the next election in 2017?

And the UKIPs in Britian are very related to Conservatism. The UKIP platform has a lot of Tea Party in it, down to the ending of tax subsidies for wind turbine farms, for example... People need to understand the difference...

The LePenites actually are Nazis though. Socialists but against Muslim immigration and for law and order so they are called part of the “right”.

I think they are pro handouts needy French people. Obviously that is difficult to determine.

Whereas Paul Ryan and Jack Kemp type candidates are for crony business, massive immigration and handouts for illegal aliens.

“A more rational spectrum would put those in favor of authoritarian state control on one end (putting Communists, Nazis, and fans of dictatorship in general on the same end), and those wanting minimal government on the other end.”

That would definitely make more sense. The left and right don’t make a bit of sense when Communism and National Socialism are both big Government takeovers.

You are technically correct but it would be more fitting to start identifying the European “far right” groups as Nationalist Socialists or fascists instead of Nazi. Just the term Nazi has been somehow related to our Conservatism by the Progressives. But, Nazi was the National Socialists while the current ruling group in France is Communist Socialists. Then somewhere out there are the Marxist Socialists. All of them are “left” by our standards.
