At a recent rally, a large group of black pastors voiced their strong opposition to gay marriage.
The rally was held against the backdrop of the current battle being fought in Michigan, where a state ban on gay marriage was overturned by Federal District Judge Bernard Friedman in March.

“....the vicious hatred of blacks displayed right here on FR...”
Specifics, please. No characterizing, no blanket accusations, just the facts, please.
So true.
Wasted time trying to forge anything with activist blacks; they are on the consummate victim hood bus line, front row to boot. The good Americans who just happen to have dark pigment are doing just fine on their own without alliances and white guilt. Those folks are who the "black community" should be listening to; they could learn A LOT.
These pastors are absolutely right. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times. Black Americans should be more closely aligned with the tea party than with Democrats. It’s the tea party that wants to stop importation of workers that take jobs from blacks. It’s the tea party that wants less taxes on everyone, black, white, or whatever. It’s the tea party that opposes government imposed immorality.
Most blacks seem to be more interested in free stuff than jobs, at least that is the way it seems.
“the vicious hatred of blacks”
Oh really..... You have been here for 12 years, you ought to know better.
The “the vicious hatred of blacks” is the 3 or 4% of blacks that keep committing all the crimes.
Get a grip Rev. Al and/or Jesse.
They can scream at Zero all they want - he’s not facing another election.
There is a parade and statute unveiling celebration going on tomorrow in Houston. Not only do we have to put up with endless trash political commercials from Dewhurst but Sheila Jackson Lee has appeared four times in the last hour asking everyone to join her in the celebration.
Would be nice to see Sheila ask Apostle Claver to give the dedication speech, even though Raging Elephants put up a banner stating that MLK was a Republican. Maybe if someone tells Sheila that it’s called reaching out across the aisle she’ll do it.
He’s raci— I mean, homophobic! — No, wait ... which is it?
I am calling B.S. Every single one of them knew last election that he supported this and they all fell in line and brought their congregations with them. Over 95% of the African American population voted for this turd and they will follow him into hell.
Do you mean Martin King?
I’ve seen some posts that I was shocked that the mods didn’t pull over the last few years.
We had Log Cabin Republicans who were more than happy to talk about how they were molested, twisted, and hurt by child molestation and wanted to stand and fight against the gay agenda, but FReepers ran them off. We had blacks, who identified as such, who were turned off by the racism.
I’m a Jew who loves FR, but any attempt to make people behave in a civil manner on this board is no longer accepted.
I miss my gay FRiends who wanted to stop child exploitation by sharing how it harmed their psyche and damaged them for life. (I was pro-gay marriage until one of my gay FRiends beat me over the head with the fact that the the gay lifestyle was about promiscuity and that I was so very wrong) I miss my black FRiends who were excited to join the conservative cause and help their communities.
I once saw a thread pulled because a man who loved a transsexual was defending the person he loved. He was trying to talk about how his/her past child abuse harmed him/her and broke their identity. He was trying to explain why *THEY* wanted to join the conservative movement. But his sin was that he still saw this person as a woman and loved this person. They were part of the damage and THAT was why they wanted to fight it. Nobody had greater reason to be here than they did.
He was banned within minutes.
What makes me sick is that he was agreeing with basic conservatism. He was agreeing that this caused damage and asking this community to accept those who wanted to join us to fight back against child abuse because they had actually suffered through it.
When I joined FR I was a liberal WICCAN for the love of G-d. I came in, looking for a fight and found reasonable, good people who were willing to talk to me.
FR welcomed my questions with honest answers. FReepers became my teachers. Since then, I’ve converted to Judaism and home schooled both of my children into functioning conservative adults.
Had I joined FR now, I’d never have made it past my first comment. Instead of intelligent conservatives teaching me the errors of my thought processes with patience, I would’ve been banned or ripped apart and it would’ve validated every horrible misconception that I was ever taught about conservatism... (and G-d and religion, for that matter. I wouldn’t be a devout Jew if it weren’t for FR.)
We are the face of conservatism and we’ve gotten meaner and lost our teachers’ soul. We alienate those who are moved to stand with us if they don’t present themselves in exactly the right way.
I am not asking for PR/BS. I want my sage teachers back. Sage teachers guided me and led me to a good life. I hate that FR has lost this and it saddens me that so many lost souls are booted out now before anyone gets the opportunity to direct them.
It’s like pastors beating people out of a church who want to confess and learn how to be godly. It’s a crime.
Yes
BTTT!
Everyone of them will continue to vote for democrats.
FR doesn’t hold with wrongdoing.....black or white. I don’t see that as hatred for any one group.
Not a peep out of these “pastors” as 57 million babies, disproportionately black, have been murdered.
Similar to the gun rights people who are talking about nullification—when there’s never been a peep about nullification while 57 million babies have been murdered.
The Democrats do it only until they have their votes.
