A judge ordered a man who admitted to raping about 40 women during an 11-year period to be released to the Southern California community of Palmdale.
Christopher Evans Hubbart, 63, will be released on or before July 7, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. A news conference was scheduled for 1 p.m.
Hubbart, who has been in the custody of Department of State Hospitals since he was designated a sexually violent predator in 1996, will be monitored by the Liberty Conditional Release Program. He must wear a GPS ankle monitor.
He also will be transported to individual therapy sessions twice per week. He will be accompanied by a Liberty supervisor -- the program contracts with the state to place and supervise sexually violent criminals -- when he goes out in public for the first six months to a year, according to terms of his release.

Hopefully he might run into a relative or even one of the women he raped. Just saying.
I wonder what J & K will do with this.
No chance of recidivism here. Just ask the psychiatrists who have declared him release-able. /S
Its pretty disgusting that someone can go to jail for years for filing out the wrong form, and barely anything for raping dozens of women.
Just a part of Obama’s America, he would probably have been released a week or so ago if he were an illegal
Do you remember the name of the old Clint Eastwood movie where he is pursuing the killers of a gang who gang-raped a woman years ago? As he gets closer to the suspect, he discovers the truth and then manages to “lose” the evidence after she tracks down and finishes off the last one.
Good. That community has been wrestling with a shortage of serial rapists lately.
Maybe he’ll drive an ATV where he shouldn’t and really get in trouble.
Our judiciary is so bad that they will force the public into self help in dealing with violent criminals.
Why is he still breathing?
Nope. But I think I will.
California has a long history of vigilantism.
California also has a lot of gangs. Palmdale is up to its eyebrows with gangs, mostly Hispanic in that it is majority Hispanic.
For some reason I doubt they will be very friendly to a serial rapist.
Was just told it was Sudden Impact with Sandra Locke. Didn’t Clint Eastwood wind up marrying her?
I don’t think they ever married.
What could possibly go wrong?
Seems I thought they were an item as my dad once said.
Maybe the judge should take him in.
I looked it up they were an item for about 15 years. Did not end well.
