Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says he’s “bigoted in a lot of different ways” because…

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, a person who has nothing to gain and everything to lose by speaking honestly like this, felt compelled to speak on the topic of banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling at a conference in Nashville: “I know I’m prejudiced, and I know I’m bigoted in a lot of different ways,” Cuban said in an interview shown at the annual GrowCo convention hosted byInc. magazine, according to The Tennessean. If “I see a black kid in a hoodie on my side of the street, I’ll move to the other side of the street. If I see a white guy with a shaved head and tattoos (on the side he now is on), I’ll move back to the other side of the street. None of us have pure thoughts; we all live in glass houses.” Cuban’s point is that we all have preconceived notions of various things. He is not advocating for racism but rather suggesting that we all have flaws. Still, the comments come at a difficult time for the NBA, in the wake of Sterling being recorded making racist comments to friend V. Stiviano by phone. Sterling was banned for life for those comments. Cuban explained the importance of helping people evolve from their prejudices and bigotries: “I’ll try to give them a chance to improve themselves, because I think that helping people improve their lives, helping people engage with people they may fear or may not understand, and helping people realize that while we all may have our prejudices and bigotries we have to learn that it’s an issue that we have to control, that it’s part of my responsibility as an entrepreneur to try to solve it, not just to kick the problem down the road. Because it does my company no good, it does my customers no good, it does society no good if my response to somebody and their racism and bigotry is to say, ‘It’s not right for you to be here. Go take your attitude somewhere else.’”

Good to hear a public figure like Marc Cuban, be honest about his own prejudices, which we ALL have to some extent, instead of doing what 99% of the lib/prog types do by acting holier-than-thou and projecting their crap on others.
FTA:" “I see a black kid in a hoodie on my side of the street, I’ll move to the other side of the street. "
Didn't Jesse Jackson express a similar sentiment?

Racist -— Bigot-— Prejudiced/Prejudice are VERY misused.

If you do NOT view your race or yourself better than someone or a group, such as a race of people, then you are NOT racist.

However, we are all prejudiced and have prejudices; fair or unfair...do we use them for protection or self-preservation? Yes.

Do we use them to take advantage or hurt someone else? No, if not, then you are NOT a bigot, either.

That’s my $.02

Discrimination is not bigotry.

We all discriminate, we see something and we judge whether we like it or not based on appearance....But that has nothing to do with the person’s skin color. It has more to do with how they carry themselves and how they appear.

Mark Cuban is a repulsive Yankee leftist who has an unhinged hatred for George W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and other genuine American Patriots who kept America safe from muzzies for eight great years. In spite of my contempt for the aptly-named Cuban, his honesty in this matter is laudable.

Apparently Cuban had to apologize because “Trayvon Martin”. You can no longer express a well-founded fear of a young person walking the streets at night in a “hoodie”, if that person is a minority. Just let them beat you up and take it like a man, apparently.

But maybe the criticism is correct. Just because Trayvon Martin, who tried to kill a hispanic man for following him around, was wearing a hoodie, doesn’t mean that EVERY black person wearing a hoodie is a potential killer if you don’t give them a wide berth.

But isn’t that exactly the message of Trayvon? If you see a black person in a hoodie, you are NOT supposed to walk toward them, because then they will think you are coming to confront them, and they will have to sucker-punch you and beat you up for their own good. I thought we were SUPPOSED to turn and walk away, and let the police handle it.

Moving to the other side of the street if one sees a potentially threatening person? Uh, this is not bigotry. It’s a wise survival mechanism. Only a blithering idiot would walk into the midst of a gang (black or white) or subject themselves to a potentially dangerous situation in order to appear unbiased. In fact, I’d say anyone who didn’t cross the street in circumstances like that is irrational.

Being self aware and protecting yourself by personal observation and/or using common sense is now bigoted?
I call it playing the odds, others call it profiling, either way it makes sense to understand your surroundings.

Thank you very much for that explanation, CincyRichieRich. That was exactly what I was trying to point out. Prejudices are generally based on real world experiences. I’m prejudiced against fire. I don’t jam my hand in a fire, because I believe it’s going to burn me. For all I know, it might not even been a real fire. It might be an illusion or it may not crisp my flesh (I’ve never been burnt to that extent before). Nevertheless, I’m not going to stick my hand in a fire just to prove the point or appear unbiased.

[Cuban] he is still a leftist...

As I mull it over, I was far too gentle in my appraisal of the evil Mark Cuban. That leftist is actually guilty of treason. He not only stated that President George Bush planned the 9/11 attacks but later was behind a film that called for the murder of President Bush. He needs to not only lose his fortune but needs to spend the rest of life in jail. His one rational comment of late does not undo decades of subversive activities.

I am so sick & tired of the racist bs.

Anyone that tries to have a discussion on race in this country and says anything the least bit offensive to the race hustlers, you're called a racist.

...no matter the truth of the statement!

You know, it doesn't even have to be taken as offensive, a White person just talking about Black culture or society is automatically a racist and has no right to talk about Black Culture or Black Society! Period!

It’s common sense to avoid obvious trouble like black youths in hoodies and white punks on dope. But common sense is now outlawed.

To expand on my remark a bit more. He's actually a carpetbagger of the worst kind. Mark Cuban is a northerner who made an enormous fortune here in Texas but never embraced the values of the Lone Star state. He's anti-gun, anti-Christian, anti-Conservative pro-abortion and hates the principles of the Founding Fathers.
