Examining America’s most peaceful and least peaceful states
The Examiner ^ | May 13, 2012 | Dan Poole

n late April, the Institute for Economics and Peace released their 2012 edition of the "United States Peace Index (USPI)." This comprehensive report ranks the 50 states and determines which are the most peaceful and which are the least peaceful. Maine is the most peaceful state with a Peace Index score of 1.31. Louisiana is the least peaceful with a score of 4.05. Michigan is ranked 29th with a score of 2.69. You can see the full rankings here.

A first glance at the Peace Index would appear to suggest that blue states are the most peaceful and that red states are the least peaceful. By extension, it would appear that Progressive/Liberal states are succeeding whereas conservative states are failing. Nothing could be further from the truth. The discrepancies in the Peace Index are in fact a damming indictment against diversity – the Holy Sacrament of Progressivism.

Cross referencing the Peace Index with the percentage of the non-Hispanic white population in each individual state yields startling findings. The Peace Index is updated from 2010, and the non-Hispanic white percentages are also from 2010, so the following numbers are an apples to apples comparison:

No real details — just generalities. I was looking for a list.

Hey you! How are ya?

I don't post 1/4 as much as I used to. 70 yo now and kind of tired of this constant round pound.

Grins - it’s ok, my brain filled it in ;)

Apologies for the hijack - but I use Firefox also, but have been trying to address the old flash player crash issue on my laptop with little success : /

The good news is - and I don’t know why, but thank goodness my desktop is MUCH less sensitive to it, lol. I finally did head in to view it there ;)

Thanks again, and may God bless.
Tatt

I turn 70 in November and I hear ya!

I’m reading more now - currently Allan Nevins’ “Ordeal of the Union”, Volume 3 of 8. I’ve finished Flexner’s biography of Washington, and I’m sizing up some recent acquisitions.

I miss the intellectual radicalism on this website of a decade ago...;^)

I have Nevins' four volume "War for the Union" which really gives a lot of insight into the economic imperatives of the Civil War.

Happy reading...

I would expect no more from a collins republican. Have you ever taken the time to read the Constitution of Maine? Have you not noticed the Preamble and Article one sections one and two?

I would expect that you will be either one of those taking responsibility for yourself or leaving Maine well before the vote.

"Collins Republican"? That's the best you could do with two hours to think about it?

You'll never earn your FR code ring that way, tootsie.

Those are the subsequent 4 volumes to “Ordeal” in the set. I’ll be another few weeks before I get to them. I’m finding the history of the Buchanan administration to be as morbidly fascinating as a car-wreck.

Given its origin in the furtive shenanigans of the Democratic Party, it’s almost a foreshadowing of the Obama regime.
