NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has decided how it will respond to a nationwide scarcity of lethal injection drugs for death-row inmates: with the electric chair.
Republican Gov. Bill Haslam signed a bill into law Thursday allowing the state to electrocute death row inmates in the event prisons are unable to obtain the drugs, which have become more and more scarce following a European-led boycott of drug sales for executions.
Tennessee lawmakers overwhelmingly passed the electric chair legislation in April, with the Senate voting 23-3 and the House 68-13 in favor of the bill.
Tennessee is the first state to enact a law to reintroduce the electric chair without giving prisoners an option, said Richard Dieter, executive director of the Death Penalty Information Center, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization that opposes executions and tracks the issue

DNA & confession proved he raped, strangled to death with her OWN SHOE LACES 8 year old Ashley ‘Nicki’ Read and then threw her body in the river. Even helped hunt for what was thought to be a missing child.
We don’t execute much anyway....we have a very liberal federal judge in Nashville that anti death penalty groups always keep filing till they get on his rocket

A simple OD on anesthesia would accomplish it, the same drug Vets use to put down a beloved sick pet would too. Neither cause pain. No shortage of them either. I vote for a public hanging in from of 201 Poplar for all to see. Use to deter horse, cattle thieves and wanna be killers.

I think hanging is the best method. It is pretty simple. Executions should be public.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to kill someone with lethal drugs.
Not that I’m against The Chair, The Gallows, The Firing Squad, The guillotine. I praise these forms as befitting those who commit heinous acts

Why not give them “choice”; electric chair, firing squad, lynching or carbon monoxide.
