What the hell does that have to do with the ability to carry a wounded comrade, or carry a heavy load in rugged terrain?
It seems DOD started the dumbing-down with Jessica Lynch when the U.S. Army awarded her the Bronze Star for distinguishing herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service consisting of this:
God help us, fanaticism rules the day.
Nope, just not as strong as men.
It just means she’ll die if her life depends on pulling herself up.
okay when we need people’to give bith in a combat zone we’ve got it covered. i think injured soldiers would rather have people around that have upper body strength to lug them out of harm’s way than ones with impressive uterine abilities.
This has to be satire.
I guess according to the new standards being a female fk-up and exposing your fellow troops to danger so they can bail your ass out warrants a Bronze Star. The ladies must be so proud of themselves.....
“OMG” she survived... that gets a medal...
Somehow I cannot bring myself to imagine how John McCain or Mitt Romney could have pulled the services so low. Lukewarm/compromising or not.
If you want social programs, sponsor the Peace Corps. But don’t look to the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines.
they also ignore how totally vulnerable a woman is giving birth. and that most in developed countries do it with a whole support team around them. oh well back to ignoring reality.
Mollie, you’re a brainwashed idiot.
I sure as hell hope one of these fine male devil dogs don’t find themselves in need of a firemans carry due to wounds in combat and the only option is a female Marine. God help this country if the Corps hasn’t flushed this craps out of its system. I guess my Corps is a kinder gentler one
Put a company of women against a company of men with the same ordnance, guess who wins?
Even Lynch considered herself to be a show puppet they used for PR purposes.
If this had of occurred during Obama’s years, I would not think much of it. But that President Bush allowed this on his watch is disturbing to me.
Lying for PR purposes is bad, bad, bad....! Nothing new though. Ira Hayes...one of the Marines that raised the flag on Iwo Jima is an example from WWII.
Humans are sexually dimorphic. Men have significantly more upper body strength. This is important in many endeavors, and breaking things and killing people as part of an organized group is right up there at the top of the list where this is so.
Liberals would have us ignore biology and sacrifice our military prowess, and more importantly our troops on the ground, to the gods of Political Correctness.
When are they required to sign up for Selective Service? Uh, huh. Thought so.
She should have never been in that position in the first place.
Just because I can’t throw a football accurately doesn’t mean I’m not competitive.. ( huh? ) /s
Just give them a 100 LB box of tools for aircraft maintenance to lug around and tell them to shut up and carry it themselves...
that’s what happened when I was in the USAF years ago...
they opened up the aircraft mechanics jobs to women and the next thing you know its the guys complaining..
the women were moaning that the guys wouldn’t be nice gentlemen and carry the females heavy gear...as well as their own...
and the grease was just ruining their manicures :)
True story
LOL
You are not appropriate for high office or a policy making position in the DOD.
When I was 48 years old I was at P.I. one weekend. I went to the obstacle course rope and climbed it to the top arms only, no legs. So if some 19 year woman can't do a few pull ups, we're supposed let other's lives depend on her in combat?
"I'm sorry Mrs. Smith, your son died because the only other infantryman there was a woman who was a champ at giving birth but she couldn't drag or carry him to safety because she didn't have the requisite upper body strength for her job.....which was NOT giving birth."
