Rep. Clyburn: Benghazi Committee ‘Same Kind of Thing’ That Led to End of Reconstruction
Mediaite ^ | 5/22/14 | Evan McMurry |

Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) told NewsOne Now host Roland Martin Wednesday evening that the recently-announced Benghazi select committee, which just gained five Democratic members, was redolent of the efforts to intimidate black politicians during the Reconstruction.

“I seem to remember our history,” Clyburn said. “After reconstruction, when people of color gained political presence throughout the south, they drummed up all kinds of things, indictments and accusations, they drove these people out of the south. Some went to Chicago, some came here to Washington D.C. And I see the same kind of efforts to discredit this president and this administration.”

“If I didn’t know the history of this country so well, I might not be as concerned as I am [about the Benghazi select committee],” Clyburn continued. “I am concerned because I see us revisiting those same kinds of things that led to the end of Reconstruction at the end of the 1890s.”

“This” is a code word for “Those racist Republicans are picking on the president because he is black.”

When are these dummies going to wake up. We are picking on his white side, cause it knows better then to spout the BS Obozo constantly engages in.

This the moment for the alternative media. They will need to get the truth out so the American people can see that Democrats don’t care about our people and don’t want us to know the truth. Dumpocrats are mindless statists and the enemies of Freedom.

Clyburn is the permanent Congressthing of the S.C. 6th Congressional District, which sprawls like a giant amoeba across the state, and metastasizes in much the same way.

I was in Rep. Joe Wilson’s district until my street was gerrymandered into Clyburn’s. If you’re white, writing to his office for any kind of help is DOA. Yes, I said it.

His seniority makes Clyburn undiselectible. He will leave office only when carried out.

It's a shame Obama is really mad that the terrorists that murdered 4 Americans haven't been brought to justice.

When, if ever, will this investigate gain access to witnesses on the ground?

We know Obama doesn't want any of them answering what they were there, but how can he hide them and keep them from testifying?

Do we even have their names?

“I am concerned because I see us revisiting those same kinds of things that led to the end of Reconstruction at the end of the 1890s.”

This moron doesn't know squat about the end of Reconstruction.

There were Congressional hearings about Reconstruction in the early 1970's, but they mainly documented abuses in the South of the rights of blacks. It was at this time the Ku Klux Klan Act was passed that treated the Klan as a terrorist organization. So, he has his history backwards.

The real way Reconstruction ended was because of the election of 1876. By then, Northerners were also growing tired of garrisoning troops in the South to keep white Democrat Southerners from depriving blacks of their rights. The War had been over more than ten years. The Election of 1876 was disputed, coming down to disputed electoral votes in three Southern states. A backroom deal was cut where the Democrats allowed those votes to go to the Republican, Hayes, if the Republicans agreed to pull the last troops from the South.

From then on, the Solid South emerged where in almost all states there was one-party Democrat rule that eventually imposed segregation and denied blacks the right to vote. And that was your party, Congressman.

And that was in 1876, not 1898.

You need a remedial class in history.

James, it's not about black, nor about white, Benghazi is about red, as in Americans bleeding red.

If I were one of this clowns constituents, I would be embarrassed.

Democrats wormed their way into levels of influence in our educational system many years ago, and know what it is the vast majority of Americans are ignorant of as they (the Democrats) were responsible to make certain such ignorance prevails.

Too many voters believe what the Democrats say, because they don’t know any better, and Clyburn knows it. Not only Clyburn, but every Democrat that opens it’s mouth, and spews deliberate lies as they so often do.

Reconstruction is painting the bathroom, and installing a new toilet paper dispenser. KKK is some ancient cult.

Clyburn’s just another lyin’ Democrat spewing lies, because he knows too many will adopt a negative attitude towards the committee due his lying.

Uh - my history’s a bit rusty, but I seem to remember that it was the Republican party that was pushing for reconstruction, while the Democrat party, which literally advertised itself after the Civil War as “The White Man’s Party”, sought to undermine it......

Maybe Obamacare will pay for a brain transplant for Clyburn.
