Healthcare rates are going up for many people in 2015, and the White House is afraid that people will be unhappy about this. So unhappy that Democrats might be punished at the polls. But if health insurers keep their rates artificially low through the elections new rules unveiled recently by the administration will make sure the giant insurance companies wont lose any money.
The taxpayers however will.
(From The LA Times)
The Obama administration has quietly adjusted key provisions of its signature healthcare law to potentially make billions of additional taxpayer dollars available to the insurance industry if companies providing coverage through the Affordable Care Act lose money.
The move was buried in hundreds of pages of new regulations issued late last week. It comes as part of an intensive administration effort to hold down premium increases for next year, a top priority for the White House as the rates will be announced ahead of this falls congressional elections
Americas Health Insurance Plans, the industrys Washington-based lobbying arm, welcomed the administrations move, saying in a statement that the regulations provide important clarity about how these insurer-financed programs will work as health plans prepare their rates for 2015.
They can do this. This is blatant, out in the open trickery and the average American would be able to see it.
But they can do it, out in the open, without any cover or explanation.
The reason they can do it and get away with it is because the media will make nary a peep about it.
Zer0 knows his friends in the media will protect him to the end.
Don't worry. The 'pub majority in the HOR who really hate Obamacare and want to get rid of it won't finance this outrage.
(sarcasm of course)
When the premiums finally do increase (and they WILL in order to support this monstrosity), who do you suppose will get the blame??
