As TPNN’s “The Capitol Hill Show with Tim Constantine” began it’s second hour today, host Tim Constantine was clearly agitated about something. New revelations in the case of Senator Thad Cochran’s nursing home-bound wife, and the “activist” who was taking pictures of her in her hospital room may point to a disgraceful ploy that seems all too clear…and it was potentially orchestrated by Senator Cochran’s team.
In an absolutely disgusting move apparently for political gain, Senator Thad Cochran may be going as far as to throw his own bedridden wife under the bus. The Capitol Hill Show’s Tim Constantine broke down the disturbing evidence that seems to point to Senator Cochran’s involvement in exploiting his wife to gain a political edge on his strongest opponent, State Senator Chris McDaniel.
“How is that possibly going to help Chris McDaniel?” Said Constantine on Monday’s show of the activist who snuck into Rose Cochran’s room last Friday. He continued with some very strong words for Senator Cochran. “Senator Thad Cochran, and/or his staff, have thrown his wife under the bus in an act of desperation, because they believe Chris McDaniel is going to beat them in this primary for the United States Senate. They are now causing something themselves, and accusing Chris McDaniel and his staff of this reprehensible behavior… It defies any ounce of human goodness.”
Constantine fumed when talking about what he believed was the Cochran campaign’s likely involvement in the scandal, and even called for Cochran’s resignation, calling it “The most reprehensible thing I have ever seen.”

Uh Duh!
Thad and his boys cooked this up and tossed it out there. I wouldn’r don’t that The Turtle and his CofC/Super Pac people didn’t have something to say about the whole thing.
McDaniel needs to stay on task and point out the issues about which he’s a better choice than is Cocharan. He shouldn’t even mention the sick wife thing unless he’s asked directly about it. Or maybe open press conferences with a statement supporting the fine job Cocharan is doing caring for his wife, then saying the press conference will be about other issues....take charge!
That’s essentially what he’s doing.
The whole video shenanigans only came up because:
1. The local news cycle was ‘investigating’ the many trips Cochran was taking with his ‘executive assistant’.
2. Polling indicated McDaniel was catching Cochran.
Cochran team sat on the video for over 2 weeks before they even contacted the authorities about it. And only did so after 1 and 2 above.
It’s certainly much easier to throw a bed-ridden person under the bus than it is someone who can take care of themselves.
More like Thaddy lady knew about it before it happened, than he was not told about it for a week after the event.
It’s disgraceful to suggest Sen. Cochran had anything to do with this. McDaniel’s campaign manager called Cochran to disavow any knowledge of the incident before police even announced the name of the perpetrator or the victim (Mrs. Cochran). Even though it’s not in my backyard, I’ve been following this story closely. The Clarion-Ledger (the Jackson, MS daily newspaper) and a conservative blog called Jackson Jambalaya have been reporting this story in exacting detail, including recordings of voice mails left by the McDaniel’s campaign.
The timing just seems fishy. Cochran knew about it weeks about but then it all blows up just as a poll comes out with McDaniel ahead. I don’t trust any of these people, least of all Haley Barbour.
The Clarion Liar is hardly an objective source.
You are aware, aren’t you, that the Cochran campaign had the video evidence for over 2 weeks before they took it to the police? And that the campaign waited for several days before they even told Thad that his wife had been taped/posted on the internet?
The story about Cochran’s mistress, renting an ‘apartment’ from her and taking her on many trips broke about the middle of last week. So did a poll that indicated that McDaniel was catching Cochran. Funny how the Cochran team waited till THEN to get upset enough about the video to actually contact the police.
Cochran’s handlers aren’t even allowing him to answer questions. Even before all this broke. He’s not allowed to debate either. He wanted to retire. But was ‘convinced’ by Haley Barbour and kin to run again.
It’s not like Haley Barbour has anything to gain from Cochran being senator for another term:

It’s pretty clear to those of us who are paying attention that Cochran isn’t running this show.
Can you imagine your vulnerable spouse being in danger and your ‘team’ not telling you about it for nearly a week? Really?
Except of course, that Newt’s naughty predator teacher wife had abandoned him (because he wouldn’t go back to Georgia) not the other way around. It was she who desired the divorce. She chose living back in her hometown over living with her husband.
The leftist press made much of his delivery of the divorce documents while she had been getting a benign tumor removed. It was the divorce she wanted. She had left him a long time before and he had moved on.
Perhaps poor Newt was too old for her. Some cougars just like ‘Em young.
Yes Newt was seeing someone else prior to the divorce and annulment. Absolutely he should have waited. But then, absolutely Jackie Battley had no business banging one of her students, and having done so and later conceiving a child by him she should have stayed in DC where he was employed no matter how homesick she got. Consequences.
I point all this out because she was creepy and her behavior in banging one of her students warrants it - even though she did get him to marry her later. Not because I wish to support Nancy Pelosi’s co cheerleader in trying to pass the carbon credits scam.
Sigh.
Maybe Thad had nothing to do with this.
I wish we could all grow up and realize these characters are, if they’re in there for more than a couple of terms, are capable of a lot, and quit pretending they are not shakespearean soap opera characters who are narcissistic and as frightened as can be of losing position and having to work for a living and having to work for reelection, and that they have horrible people on staff.
Weird. I am only finding pictures of him and his wife at soirees.

Lots of pics of him/her in evening wear and at parties and ‘function’s.
Most of them look to be gone now.

Why, just a day or two ago, when I searched for Sen Cochran and wife pics...the first page that came up were of the Sen and his assistant. Yes, I remember the evening wear pic...she had a big, smiling gaze at the Senator.
Makes me even more certain now.
Told my mom who’s about Mrs. Cochran’s age what the whole story was re: nursing home 1000 miles away while he played house with the assistant. She and all her bridge buddies were horrified. If that sort of news gets out in that age group, he will definitely not get the little old lady vote.

I do look for Cochran to win. Local media isn’t even discussing the fact that the campaign sat on the video for several weeks before approaching the police.
And other ‘things that make you go hmmm’ stuff.
If he does win, I’ll probably save $4 (or more!) a gallon gas and stay home that day. No real reason to go to the polls.
