It's so obvious that Christie is running. The question is - why? Does he want to be President or simply use this a spring board to something else. Secretary of State? Attorney General?

I know he's not liked here and I hated seeing him with Obama in the wake of Hurricane Sandy - but I live in NJ and he's been a very good Governor and he's been good for NJ. I have met the man a few times - he's a good decent man who puts his family first. That said, he's still a politician!

And I don't think he can win a national campaign. I think his matter of fact pointed message, often delivered bluntly and with sarcasm and swagger will not translate in many areas of the country - or with those that are more sensitive to the ways ideas and messages are delivered.

So without resorting to comments about the mans weight or looks - we're above that aren't we?? - what do you see as his biggest impediment? What's the reason for him running? Maybe he can get the nomination and I'm selling him short?

Has their been any real indication from folks like Cruz or Paul that they will run? Does Cruz have national appeal?

So far we have Rubio-Christie-and it seems like Jeb Bush. A flawed field to be sure......

Thoughts?

“the strongest moral power for what is good and what is right in the world.”

Can we try that at home first?

"Defending American values"... seriously, does anyone still accept such cliche and nebulous rhetoric as good enough?

Personally, I'd like a bit more detail before spending yet more American lives and treasure.

NJ is broke. According to last weeks poll, the majority of its residents do not want to live there. As governor of such a messed up state, he should not be worried about foreign affairs. Fix NJ first before branching out to the world.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called Sunday for a more aggressive foreign policy that defends American values abroad — even in "in some very messy, difficult places."

Fantastic. This has worked out so well in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc I can't imagine what the downsides are.

Yes, Christie is definitely sending a message that he is running.

Guess he figures that bridge-gate ran its course.

Christie could not elaborate on what exactly “more aggressive foreign policy” means to him and nobody bothered to ask?

Just another hit piece to make Republicans look like war mongers and cover for Obama while he uses US military, US $, to support heroin cartels the Middle East.

In Syria alone there have been $160,000 reported killings in 3 years of Obama funded war. Syria, like the Ukraine, is a strategically located drug trafficking route. Obama has given rebels $127 MIllion, that’s just what we know of.

Yeah, right. So that's why we care more about gay rights than the massacre of Christians.
