Same-sex marriage is accepted by younger conservatives and won’t likely be an issue in upcoming political races, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said.

Appearing Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press," Walker was asked whether younger conservatives are “more apt to see marriage equality as something that is … what they believe, that is basic rather than as a disqualifying issue?”

“I think there’s no doubt about that,” Walker said. “But I think that’s all the more reason, when I talk about things, I talk about the economic and fiscal crises in our state and in our country, that’s what people want to resonate about. They don’t want to get focused on those issues.”

The discussion stemmed from Republican Sen. Rob Portman’s announcement last week that he has changed his position on same-sex marriage because he wants his son, who is gay, to have the same “joy and stability of marriage” that he has had and that he wishes for his other two children.

Noted Walker: “I’ve had young people ask me …why the government is sanctioning it in the first place?” He suggested it be left up to “the churches and the synagouges and others to define that.”

Republican Ana Navarro noted that “as the youngest person on this panel, I think it’s generational.” It is an issue of tolerance, she said. “I want people who are pro-traditional marriage to tolerate my views and don’t think that makes me less moral or less of a Republican. And I need to tolerate the views of those who think marriage is just a man and a woman and

Marriage Equality?
We already have that. Every citzen in America has the same right to marry as every other citizen. The homosexuals want special rights to allow then to marry..

Complete breakdown of the language. That headline doesn't even make any senses. “Gay” is not the same as Sodomite, and two men cannot be married.

The government has no place in marriage.

No. Scott Walker trashed himself with his statements on this issue.

Why are you posting OLD articles? You are a sleaze.

Why are you objecting to posting articles about potential POTUS candidates that reveal their positions, or how they are thinking on issues in their own words?

Walker accepted the “marriage equality” canard, so now he has aligned with the enemy.

At least wait until he announces is all I ask. Obviously we are going to play “wack the mole” throughout the campaign and end up with somebody neither one of us wants. But that is the way we roll....beat up on our candidate and then complain during the general about the nominee....vote for the jerk.....and then complain that he loses and then we get to complain the next 4 years about the Democrat who won. Vicious cycle that I guess we are starting earlier then ever....bashing people who have not announced yet is pretty low even for some of you who hate everyone.

ok. i’ll respond, once. first i don’t *trust* any journalist or politician. it’s degrees of distrust for me. that being said, i distrust scott walker far less then any but a handful of politicians on this planet.

imo, there’s not an American politician *in office* outside of Joe Arpaio and lately Ted Cruz who has advanced the conservative agenda more than Scott Walker in the short time i’ve been following politics (the last 5 years). Scott Walker is one of the few conservatives who have actually stood up, walked his conservative talk, stood in the breech, toe to toe with the enemy, represented my views and walked away the victor. and you just want to throw him away?

for instance, some people here *claim* he’s for amnesty. well, i haven’t heard that. has he said flat out that he supports rubio’s bill? if that’s true, then i can no longer support him. i’ve heard him say in a video last year that he’s for the *existing* pathway to citizenship. that’s a pathway my mom used to become US citizen. i’ve got zero problem with legal immigrants. if he says he’d rather focus on beating on dems, ok, his *style* is perhaps less confrontational than mine with the GOPe. frankly, he’s taken the heat. i give him credit for taking that heat; i give him the benefit of experience, especially given how he’s a proven fighter and winner against the dem union thugs who threw everything they had at him.

so no. i’m not throwing Scott Walker under the bus based on what i’ve seen here so far. certainly not for words reported by “the media” when the bulk of his *actions* as a conservative speak so eloquently for him.

Sorry, not buying into the characterization at all that his is some type of hatchet job or "whack-the mole".

It behooves us to be aware of how these people think, whether it is Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, or Rand Paul.

This is part of a very necessary process of vetting these guys from a conservative perspective.

I didn't know that GWB was such a Pro-Amnesty politician until after he became President.

I didn't know he was not a limited-government conservative until after he became President.

That was my fault because I was not prepared.

I don't intend to get caught with my pants down ever again, especially where POTUS is concerned.

You do make some good points. Whoever we end up with, I hope is acceptable to both of us and electable.

Uh, because of joint tax filings. Benefits for spouses of soldiers, etc. Walker just dropped to Rand Paul status as far as the run for POTUS is concerned.

The difference between the pro-family and the pro-life movement is that the later has succeeded in framing its arguments in secular terminology the unchurched youth can understand.

...an interesting analysis, but do you truly believe that unchurched youth give a fig about the pro-life movement, simply because the semantics are familiar...? Some of the most fervent supporters of abortion are college students...pro-life succeeds where pro-family fails because its issue revolves around willful taking of life, not because it’s turned with a more colloquial phrase...

In Wisconsin, Scott Walker pushed through Right to Work for government employees. In doing so, he crippled a major supporter of the Democrat agenda -- the unions.

He is staying focused on those measures which are needed to roll back socialism and the Dem agenda.

Get the seeds planted among the young, including the roving STD bomb each rump-ranger is; naming the more dangerous contagions such as hepatitis, explaining how they prefer engaging in unprotected sex, how they consider “having the bug” (AIDS) to be a status symbol, and describing their coprophagic practices.

...all that is true...but it’s kind of a blanket indictment of an entire population, in this case, the population of homosexual persons...unless it is your belief that every single individual engages in the wanton manner that you’ve quite brilliantly outlined...but unhealthy practices are not confined to these people; millennia of unabated heterosexual behaviors have led to dire consequences as well, hence the stabilized leveling of libidinous activity through the medium of marriage...what do you say to those purporting to seek the same protection against sexual ravages through marriage, for example, Mr. Portman’s son...you have no idea whether he engages in lustful depravity, and cannot assume that he does...

...identifying a population by the behavior of its most outrageous defilers is incomplete analysis...true as far as it goes, and yours is particularly spot on...but still incomplete...

And while doing that, and I applaud him for doing those things, he is telegraphing how he will handle issues (as POTUS) that should be important to you such as Gay Marriage and Illegal Immigration:

YouTube Link: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, in his own words, endorses a path to citizenship for Illegal Aliens in July of this year.

Scott Walker just said something that is not true for the purpose of advancing his standing as a moderate. Conservatives, whether young or old, do not support gay marriage.

Well, I may have left out some even more outrageous practices like felching, and some other horrible diseases, but I just posted what came to mind.

but it’s kind of a blanket indictment of an entire population, in this case, the population of homosexual persons

According to Gore Vidal, there isn't such a thing, only homosexual acts...and yes, I have every intention of reimplementing the stigma that needs to be there.

...unless it is your belief that every single individual engages in the wanton manner that you’ve quite brilliantly outlined.

I don't care if they have or not, they probably just haven't got around to it yet. Just the hepatitis epidemic and the boy raping/harvesting is enough to make me homorevulsic. Additionally, we could all do well without their immature "in your face" behavior.

Mental disorder? You show me a pirate and I'll show you a whackjob.

Gimme a break....You can bet your bottom dollar that one or more predatory "chicken hawk" have been pecking away at the young man's libido, maybe for years, grooming him for recruitment as a piece of "fresh meat" for their buddies.

You don't really buy that "born that way" lie do you?
