Middle East envoy Martin Indyk was overheard on Thursday night, at the bar of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Washington, D.C., bashing Israel and fully blaming it for the recent failure of peace talks with the Palestinians, the Washington Free Beacon reports, citing an individual who overheard the conversation and described it as a surprising and “nasty” 30-minute-long tirade.

During the conversation, Indyk mentioned running into Daily Beast reporter Josh Rogin, and he and his team “openly disparaged” Rogin for publishing recorded, controversial private remarks by Secretary of State John Kerry, referring to Israel as an “apartheid” state. Indyk and his team were saying “what nerve” the Rogin had to record Kerry’s private remarks.

Ok. But recording the private remarks of an NBA owner and "47 percent" Romney comments are just fine dontcha know.

U.S. Envoy to Israel Relieved of Post Over Security Issues

Martin S. Indyk, the American ambassador to Israel and an architect of American policy in the Middle East, has been temporarily relieved of his post and has had his security clearance lifted, pending an investigation into whether he mishandled classified materials, State Department officials said today.

There was no indication of espionage, the officials said, nor was any American intelligence compromised. But they said the concerns about Mr. Indyk’s behavior stretched back at least five years, to the first of his two tours as ambassador to Israel.
