May 17, 2014, 02:42 pm Pelosi's message to grads: Be disruptors
By Timothy Cama Lauren Schneiderman
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) encouraged graduates of the University of California Berkeley to be disruptors, using their knowledge and technology to shake up the economic system.
Being called a disruptor is a high compliment, Pelosi said in prepared remarks Saturday. You here at Berkeley are already disruptors in many ways.
Pelosis speech came nearly 50 years after students led by Mario Savio occupied a Berkeley building and launched the free speech movement, which sought to lift university bans on political activities.
Now, its all about you what you can do with your freedom to speak out, with the tools of our time: Instagram and YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, Pelosi said.
The California lawmaker urged graduates to tackle problems with income disparity, education quality and climate change. She told them their peers around the world will help, and theres no need to wait for leaders to act.
Pelosi also touched on campaign finance, saying the Supreme Court equates money with speech, opening the floodgates to secret, special interest money in our elections. But graduates could disrupt the system.
Lets restore power to the voices of the people, not the pockets of the privileged few, she said.
Pelosi closed her speech with hopeful words: My wish is that you will be disruptors when necessary, and that you enjoy every moment of it.
The postmodern approach to restructuring society calls for "challenging power on a day-to-day level." Postmodern libtards want people to "gnaw away" at the great institutionalized narrative apparatuses by increasing the number of skirmishes that take place on the sidelines.
Some new ways of living that might restructure society toward a postmodern libtard view could include any of the following skirmishes on the sidelines:
1) pick a quarrel with your conservative neighbor
2) refuse to buy a certain brand of condensed milk
3) surf the net at work
4) deface billboards
5) sell pirated copies of movies and songs
6) buy fake designer labels
7) celebrate fragmentation, diversity and deviancy
8) teach a safe-sex course in church or school
9) turn vices into virtues
10) make the abnormal normal
11) legalize sodomy
12) decriminalize marijuana
13) legalize same-sex marriage
14) praise the concept of a living constitution
15) subscribe to MTV
16) attend a performance of the V-monologues
17) view x-rated movies
18) protest Christian prayer in government schools
19) support the ACLU
20 defend NAMBLA
21)label christians and conservatives a right-wing religious fanatics or fascists
22) support the Green Party
23) protest "under God" in the pledge of Allegiance
24) remove "in God we trust" from money
25) support all tax increases
26) publicly burn your fur coat
27) drink French wine
28) help an illegal alien across the border
29) keep Intelligent Design out of the schools
30) join the anti-globalization protests
One thing they won’t be is employed....
It would have been great if someone disrupted her speech
On the other, I strongly suggest that patriots get up to speed with the federal government's constitutionally limited powers so that they can start practicing "fire prevention" as opposed to being disruptors, aka "fire fighters."
Power to the People!
Hell yes Nanzi, we are gong to take the power
and you and your ilk will be lucky if you only
spend the rest of your life in prison...
Are they recruiting the new Occupiers for the next “protest” to be raised against “the Man”?
This generally entails setting up a tent city, creating huge piles of trash and rubble, playing loud music, ingesting various drugs, and a little “free love” out in the open, just daring the cops to arrest them.
This has been going on since the late Sixties. Woodstock has already been done.
That’s right; don’t disrupt the Dem agenda of suppression of religion, the welfare state, war on the American family, or affirmative action. Those would be “bad disruptions”...
Be a disruptor...UNLESS..
You are a conservative....THEN..
You are a RACIST!
Uuuugh... That’s a capitol offense!
How ‘bout those Bundy ranch disruptors, Nance? Yea! Cool!
Lets restore power to the voices of the people, not the pockets of the privileged few, she said.
Nancy Pelosi, working class hero.
Interesting that Pelosi doesn't feel the same way about Tea Party 'disruptors'.
Funny enough, my Dad used to do corporate recruiting at Berkeley in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Engineers. They told him that the freaks didn’t actually go to Berkeley, had just “adopted” the school as their fav campout place. They were ticked because they felt the nonsense was undermining the value of their degrees.
The California lawmaker urged graduates to tackle problems with income disparity, education quality and climate change. She told them their peers around the world will help, and theres no need to wait for leaders to act. Pelosi also touched on campaign finance, saying the Supreme Court "equates money with speech, opening the floodgates to secret, special interest money in our elections."Since money is corrupting, give me your millions, you demagogic beeotch!
Nazi Pelosi, perfect.
If there isn't a Hall of Infamy for elected federal legislators, there should be.
And Pelosi should certainly be among its most infamous Charter Members.
Her ineptitude and stupidity will be a classic.
Remember this one, praising the "Own Wall Street" Thug Society of Defecators, Rapists and Murderers?
Only as long as they disrupt conservative ideals.
