Indiana police say two officers have been placed on administrative suspension after they used a stun gun on an unruly child at a home day care.
A news release from the mayor's office and the Martinsville Police Department said the officers responded to reports of a 10-year-old who was out of control at Tender Teddies Day Care Tuesday night, reports WRTV in Indianapolis
...The department says that when the officers arrived the boy was out of control, hitting and kicking and refusing to listen to them.
The department says the officers used a stun gun and slapped the boy to subdue him.

I had a fourth grade teacher who tied a kid to a chair. She would also make pupils wash their mouths with soap if they used profanity. That would be considered barbaric today, but we thought it was appropriate punishment that fitted the misdeed.
Sadder still is that the Day Care called the police and not the boy’s parents, specifically a father. When did calling the police become the default for everything? (rhetorical)
Tasered at Tender Teddies Day Care?
You just can’t make this stuff up!
Probably why I never went into comedy writing. Real life kept getting stranger than the most twisted ideas my brain could cook up.
Words of wisdom from a bygone era:
Rules for training children
Susanna Wesley was the mother of John and Charles Wesley—and 17 other children. Here are some simple rules which she used in training her children for God:
1. Eating between meals is not allowed.
2. Children are to be in bed by 8 p.m.
3. Children are required to take medicine without complaining.
4. Teach children to fear the ‘rod of correction’.
5. Teach children to pray as soon as they can speak.
6. Require all children to be still during family worship.
7. Give children nothing that they cry for. Only grant their wishes when asked for politely.
8. Parents should not punish any fault which is first confessed and repented of. This will prevent lying in children.
9. Never allow a sinful act to go unpunished.
10. Commend and reward good behavior. Any attempt to please, even if poorly performed, should be commended.
11. Strictly keep all promises to children.
12. Parents are to subdue self-will in every child. When the will of a child is totally subdued, and it is brought to revere and stand in awe of the parents—then a great many childish follies may be passed by. I insist on the conquering of the will of children early, because this is the only strong and rational foundation of a religious education. When this is thoroughly done, then a child is capable of being governed by reason and piety.
“The silent influence of parental conduct is far greater, either for good or for evil, than most parents are aware of. You teach by what you say, you influence by what you do; and also by what you do not say, and do not perform.” J.A. James
“O parents, parents! Take care what you are teaching your children by your example. You are always influencing them for good—or evil. You are leading them to Heaven—or to Hell. Not a day passes, but you produce impressions, perhaps permanent impressions—either good or bad!” James Smith

Now if you are the parent you will be charged with child abuse if you use physical discipline on your child. That is what the State is for.
We are a police state.
My home town, and I know both of them personally.
This is the second time in the last couple of years that they have done this to an unruly child in a daycare, last time I knew the officer that took “retirement” after the incident as well.
Good grief, as if this damn town doesn’t have enough image problems without us tazing our kids on top of all the other racial BS we deal with here.
Phil Deckard is the mayor who wants another term to “finish what he started” here, I think this will be key in bringing him down now.

The driver at gunpoint is not the perp: A California Highway Patrol officer and another emergency responder stop a vehicle at a checkpoint near the neighborhood where a federal immigration officer was shot and three local police officers were wounded during a violent confrontation ...
I’d expect this at Chuck E Cheese, but not Tender Teddies Day Care.
Nice thoughtful comments.
But I don’t think you understand the purpose of these threads. You aren’t supposed to think and reflect on the sorry state of our society and how we got here. No.
You are supposed to emote and focus your hate on the police who have no goal but to kill you.
It’s like 1984 Minute of Hate or something.
I still feel the sting from the yard stick my science teacher inflicted on me. I won’t even talk about the paddle the shop teacher had.
Didn’t fool around much after that.
Huh, what a concept. The Board of Education. TASER seems a bit harsh but the judicious use of pain works every time.
Nope, the ones I heard about aren’t involved in this and they are back on the job today. I was shocked that it would happen again after all the fallout the last incident incited around here.
I need to double check this now, seems this might have been an older story recirculated but around here you can never be sure.
Our system is so screwed up. If a parent or teacher spanked the 10 year old for being unruly and throwing tantrums, they would have been arrested. But its OK for cops to taze the kid.
I don’t understand why two Male Adult Doughnut Processors couldn’t subdue a 100 lb. kid. Slap his ass in cuffs and leg straps and haul him off to the pokie for mommie to claim the darlin?
Seems like Tazering was just for fun.
This is my standard observation about these circumstances:
People call the police when something physical needs to be done and they can’t for liability reasons, do it themselves. It’s like store employees being told not to interfere with shoplifters.
Parents want to sue at the drop of a hat. Parents of the type that would have an uncontrollable child maybe more so. Tough situation to be in.
that’s what stun guns and slaps are for....to get the attention of unruly people....of any age! While the stun gun is uncomfortable..it hurts nothing except ones ego!
Or maybe he’s fat. My nine year old weighs 120 lbs, is bit chubby, but could never be compared to a football player. Unless you are attempting to justify this abuse of a ten year old.
Thanks for clearing that up. Will do.
