CHARLESTON, WV, May 15, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Running on an explicitly pro-life and pro-family platform, Saira Blair a 17-year-old high school student beat out two-time incumbent Larry Kump to represent the Republicans in the November race for the state House of Delegates. Blair, a strong Catholic said on her election signs: I am a Fiscal Conservative, Im pro-life. Im pro-marriage Im pro-family. Im pro-second Amendment. Im pro-business. Im pro-jobs Im pro West Virginia. These are my personal and political beliefs!
On another campaign sign she repeated those same stances adding, I will not compromise on these beliefs.

I guess she will turn 18 before the election...
This West Virginia 17-year old just beat an incumbent state delegate.
Nice.
Here’s another campaign angle she should use that also worked for Mayor Ed Koch of NYC. Here ads should read:
I am a Fiscal Conservative, Im pro-life. Im pro-marriage Im pro-family. Im pro-second Amendment. Im pro-business. Im pro-jobs Im pro West Virginia. These are my personal and political beliefs! And if you agree with 80% of my positions, then vote for me. If you agree with 100% of my positions, then see a psychiatrist.
I think they said she turns 18 in July. If that month is incorrect, she definitely turns 18 before November.
I’d worry about her lack of experience—a kid just coming out of High School does not know *anything* about dealing with the world. It doesn’t matter how smart she is, wisdom only comes with experience.
Joan of Arc was just 17 when she led armies
Hillary Clinton at 70 would never be capable nor do that.
I’m happy and excited for this young lady and her family. I think her dad is a senator. She must really want this. You couldn’t make a 17 year old seriously consider this if they didn’t want to. I like that she is not afraid to think independantly, opposing main stream media.
Lafayette was 19 when he became a major general (one step down from General Washington) during the Revolutionary War.
Erik Demaine became an assistant professor at MIT at 20 years of age.
Akrit Jaswal is an Indian adolescent who is a child prodigy as a physician. He performed his first surgery at the age of seven. He is the youngest person (at age 12) to get admitted in a medical university in India.
Gregory R. Smith entered college at 10 years old and was first nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize at 12 years old.
Saul Kripke was invited to apply for a teaching post at Harvard while still in high school.
Joan of Arc led French armies...not exactly a five star feat
She led them to victory, which was. Indeed, they went on to win the Hundred Year's War and her leadership was the turning point.
“does not know *anything* about dealing with the world.”
That may be good; to have one or two people like that get in office and ask questions.
That didnt work for Obammy either.
You're right about that, of course.
Voters will simply have to chose between the lessor of two evils.

Uh, in regards to her age, experience etc. Have you 'listened' to some of the current Representatives we have. We put more Marines on Guam and it will tip over. Why aren't they showing the flag that was placed on Mars? I have visited 51 of the 57 states. Stand up Joe (while talking to a man who 'he' knew no legs) You must pass the bill to see what is in it. That 3 letter word J O B S Just to name a few off the top of my head....
After reading some of the idiotic comments in the WaPost, I sent them that answer...SURPRISINGLY, I got 5 'likes'..
One of the dissenters even said (close)
"the WV legislature was written when a 17 yo may even own her own slaves. Here ideas are about the same"
Most railed on the Nepotism angle and many people casually mention Kennedy's, Bush's, Clinton's, McCaskill, even thought I saw a Sonny Bono thrown in there.....
This exactly what leadership needs to do. Nuance is something best left to buffoons like JF’ingK. State the principles of Americanism clearly and pledge to stand by them.
P.S. Dear Lefty trolls, in a nutshell this means ‘America for Americans.’ There is no ‘crypto-racism’ or ‘intolerance’ there, just stating what the pillars of the house are composed of. Don’t like it? Leave.
Experience-corruption.Shes not dealing with world issues, she will be dealing with West Virginia issues.I say that her platform is quite refreshing and she should get the job.
Not even close. One(the girl) is what is good about America, the other is about the pre meditated destruction of America.
