The fabled Chicken Little knew the sky would fall some day, just not in a country where the news would be greeted with the words: “Mon Dieu!”

In a scene that transcends the folklore of Henny Penny, more commonly known as Chicken Little, Secretary of State John Kerry yesterday gave a world platform to French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who immediately sent out a warning that the world has only 500 days remaining to avoid total “climate chaos”.

From time to time the US has had cultist crazies who have preached about the end of the world on a specific date not far in the future.

Some of them persuaded their believers into giving away their valuables, meeting together on a mountaintop, or even committing group suicide.

When the world didn’t end as predicted, most of them slunk away in shame and were never taken seriously again. The MSM press served a useful function in exposing them—back in the day.
