Russia Has Strong Suspicions of US Mercenary Activity in Ukraine – Lavrov
Ria ^ | 5-14-2014 | RIA

Moscow believes information that Western, first and foremost American, mercenaries are operating in Ukraine to be true, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

“We are waiting for answers, because we … have very strong suspicions that this might be true,” Lavrov said during an English-language interview with Bloomberg.

SNIP-----

According to the German Bild am Sonntag newspaper, around 400 elite commandos of notorious US private security firm Academi are allegedly helping Ukrainian authorities in a punitive operation against federalists in the country’s eastern regions.

The newspaper said the Academi mercenaries have taken part in attacks against federalists near Slaviansk, one of the strongholds of pro-federalization supporters in Ukraine. It is unclear who hired them, the newspaper added.

Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service informed Berlin about the involvement of Academi commandos in Kiev’s military operations in eastern Ukraine in late April.

My guess is The A-Team. Or Ding Chavez and John Clark from Tom Clancy fame.

They're spreading the news that Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner has been found drinking gin in a Kiev barroom.

Why does it seem the US is desperate to get into a war somewhere? anywhere?

Is it to provide an excuse for a rapidly approaching economic collapse? The dems don’t want to own a 2nd great depression?

I have a feeling we will soon be at war in either Syria or Ukraine or? ...and not for a good reason. I hope I’m wrong.

Mercenaries in Nevada, mercenaries in Ukraine. What difference does it make? /s

Prepare and stay vigilant.

Maybe we should just set up an open line of credit with the PRC so that when Obama wants to play big-shot (and this happens a few times a week, it seems) and wishes to gift some bad credit risk like these people with a billion or two (because even the Euros have bailed on them) the deadbeats can go directly to China and just say “Big bills! And put in on the Amies’ tab!”.

But Hunter’s cushy job does not require for him to set foot in the Ukraine but attend board meetings in Switzerland and tell everyone that he is a Biden.

The Flying Tigers were privately paid fighter pilots hired by the Chinese to fight against the Japanese. Not the first time some Americans fought for hire against future enemies. Kind of a high risk occupation if captured or killed.

I don’t like the way Putin is bullying Western Ukraine. Funny thing about bullies. If you let them get away with picking on -someone else, sooner or later the bully gets around to you, too. I’m not advocating us going into Ukraine, but I have no problem with us helping the good guys with weapons and any who want to go on the sly.

The entire album (Excitable Boy) is awesome.

I went home with a couple German waitresses during the summer of '79. I was kind of disappointed that they weren't with the Russians.

Neither of them thought much of Warren Zevon, but they loved Dire Straits, so it wasn't a complete loss.

Best concert I ever attended was Spyrogyra. Oddly enough, my wife said she hated it (years after we were married). My response? "I'll go by myself next time."

She redeemed herself a bit by enjoying "Million Dollar Quarter."

The rumor doesn’t surprise me. What proves the rumor is false is any American mercs would have done much better than the lackluster performance displayed by the Ukrainian army. For example the separatist body count would have been a lot higher and the buildings would have been back in the authorities’ hands.

The petty gangsters and drunks recruited by the GRU would have been “handled” quickly. Likewise any Spetsnaz would have been identified early and appropriate action taken. Four hundred mercs would be a formidable force.

Is there anyone in this forum who believes that we DON’T have American operatives in the field in Ukraine?

I doubt they’d be in the field in East Ukraine, meatloaf. But I would be shocked if we didn’t have quite a few trainers and advisors bringing the Ukrainian Army up to speed and shoring up security for the new Kiev regime.

there are US laws in place to prevent Americans from fighting in foreign wars. I have often wondered why it has not been used to indict American Muslims who go to fight for radical Islam. Those same laws would apply to Americans fighting in the Ukraine.

Interesting how you only cite Russian propaganda sources. You never find fault and you praise Putin.

Useful idiot

Would Obama do that? I don’t think so... Obama maybe trying to poke Putin in the eye for a change—will not turn out well—if true.

Whatever the case, the rumors and reports of "English-Speakers" training and with Kiev troops in the field has been persistent.

LOL.

The "rumors and reports"...of rumors are.."persistent".
