CHARLOTTE, N.C.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after they said a robbery suspect was shot and killed by the man he was trying to rob Monday night in northwest Charlotte.
Officers told Channel 9 that around 9 p.m. they received an armed robbery call in the 1100 block of Jordans Pond Lane.
When police arrived, the robbery victim told them that while he was outside his house, a man with a gun -- who police have identified as 22-year-old Darlanski Sherrill -- approached him and forced him into his house and demanded money from him. Officers said that during the robbery, Sherrill assaulted the victim with the gun.

According to police, while inside the house the victim shot Sherrill, who then fled the area in a car.
A few minutes later, a CMPD officer in the University City Division saw a car driving erratically and tried to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to pull over and while following the car, the officer saw a man jump from the vehicle on West W.T. Harris Boulevard near McCullough Drive.
When police made contact with that man, they saw that he was suffering from a gunshot wound and was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Officers have identified that man as Sherrill.
Police then found the vehicle a short distance away and were able to stop it. The driver, 34-year-old Don Morrison, was taken to police headquarters and charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Detectives have determined that Sherril was shot by the robbery victim and Morrison was driving him to the hospital when officers spotted him driving erratically.
The case will be reviewed by the District Attorneys office to determine if any additional charges will be filed.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Except for maybe the ears.........
I’m sure he was a good boy, just getting his life turned around, an aspiring rap star, no doubt!
Darlanski? He doesn’t look French/Russian.
They sure are slow learners ( Obama’s sons that is). They need to figure out that having a half-breed president will not save them from the wrath of the white folks they try to rape, rob or kill. Between abortions and criminal activity, you would think the Black population would be in decline.
"The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision
of what is before them, glory and danger alike,
and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it."~Thucydides
Darlanski?
African Polish?
Southern Poland.
Good Guys - 1

I just LOVE these kinds of good news articles! And the best part is the scum bag died quickly at a much lower cost to the taxpayers than a prolonged recovery would have cost.
(OK, I know. “Scum bag” may be a bit strong, because, after all, I’m sure a whole pile of “parents” and “friends” will come out of the woodwork to tell us what a good boy Darlanski was.)
“...you would think the Black population would be in decline.”
In spite of the best efforts of Planned Parenthood to carry out its founder, Margaret Sanger’s goal to eliminate the Black race, those not dead or in prison are able to keep the numbers up. Having a lot of time on their hands because of their unemployment is no doubt an advantage.
So nice to read such a heartwarming story this early in the morning!
Good to see people fighting back, it always “makes my day.”
I just love happy endings.
Nope, scumbag is perfect. I use it all the time on FR because it fits so often. I always write it as one word, either way is probably okay.
Actually, good guys-2, bad guys zero if the wheel-man gets charged with 2nd degree murder for the felony murder doctrine.
LOL!
He was just looking for Skittles !!
glad the homeowner won.
