We've spent a lot of time across the pond visiting family and fully understand the U.K. and the U.S. are two countries, as they say, "separated by a common language." But when I look at my sister-in-law's experience raising her two kids, I realize there is a difference.
A big difference.
I spend a lot of time worrying about my kids being shot. She does not. Ever. When my young kids went to play at friends' homes, I'd have to ask the parents if there was a gun because statistically 40 percent of homes with children do. My sister-in-law never has to ask.

This woman is a nutjob with an agenda.
Her agenda is to prove SHE is smarter than YOU.
She wants to control all the lives around her.
She should move to Saudi Arabia f/k/a uk. (has Scotland separated yet?)
They already tried to teach us a thing or 2 about guns back in 1776.
Yep, like it or not, the US, at least to me, appears to have at least separated into 2 different counties, maybe 3.
“When my young kids went to play at friends’ homes, I’d have to ask the parents if there was a gun because statistically 40 percent of homes with children do”
What a paranoid lunatic. Maybe if she taught her children gun safety she wouldn’t have to ask if there was a gun because her kids would already know not to handle one or let their friends handle one without supervision, to always treat it like its loaded, etc. Oh, but that would probably qualify as “child abuse” in this person’s opinion.
Heaven forbid we teach our children the proper respect and rules for guns. No, I have a better idea, let’s make them completely off-limits in ALL contexts, let’s not teach them anything about guns so that they WANT to seek out and play with these mysterious objects as a result of the “keep off the grass” effect. Couple this complete negligence in teaching with complete apathy over the adolescent consumption of violence-glorifying media and you have a winning combination! If I didn’t know better, I’d say that the creators of this media who openly support gun bans aren’t just hypocrites, they’re trying to actively create the conditions for the problem to grow so that they can advance their agenda while simultaneously profiting from it.
Maybe instead of asking the other parents in her neighborhood whether they own any guns she should ask herself if she has trained her children in the proper use and safe handling of firearms, and whether or not she allows her children to consume violent media. Maybe, just maybe, she should concern herself with her own parenting.
OK,sweetie...amend the Constitution. It can be done...it has been done. You’ll need the approval of the US House,US Senate *and* three quarters of state legislatures.
but the vote is split with more moving to the dependency zones.
We have to eliminate the notion of flyover country. In each state move to a one county one vote system.
By winning a majority of individual counties THAT is how electoral votes are awarded. THis means a rural county has one vote just like an urban county has one vote.
No, she doesn't have the time to worry about her British kids being shot, because she's too busy dealing with the higher levels of stabbings, muslim-initiated assaults, and overall robberies.
My guess is that most of her stated fears in this article are simply a lie.
The British attempting to "Teach the Americans a thing or two about guns"...
Ruh roo! That would entail taking some responsibility. Did she check the neighbors background to see if any of them are “sex offenders”?
This is NOT TRUE. There is no need to ask because you know that there is.
And so one may conclude that the UK is a utopian oasis from this right?
In the UK 110 crimes are committed vs 42 in the US per thousand population. Is it possible that the US crime rate of less than half that in the UK is because of the self-protection that firearm ownership conveys?
BTW, lady, you should be worrying more about your kids being run over by an automobile than being massacred in school, because being massacred in school doesn’t even make the top 500 list of causes of childhood mortality.
If the author of that hysterically asinine article is so worried, she could simply convert to Islam and the British government would then (seemingly) welcome her with open arms. Our society is far better off with it’s guns than with sniveling morons like her.
Well, looks like someone’s pink panties are in a wad.
Where is the husband/dad/man of the house?
Me thinks if he is around, he done been outfitted with some pink panties of his own.
And who would she call if someone invades their home?
Hell I could ask questions like this for hours and it would never sink in to this twit. She has been fully indoctrinated to the point of no return.
My cousin was killed by the Brutish on August 27, 1776 at long Island. We have another King George we need to be protected form.
The words “personal responsibility” are hate speech to liberals.
The US statistics need to be adjusted (down) for injuries to and fatalities of those attempting criminal acts. That might make a huge difference. Bad guys don’t count.
Heidi, who resides in Liberal La-La Land and grinds axes for anti-gun wackos as a hobby, provides us with a completely objective, unbiased commentary.

It is too much work amending the constitution. Find a judge.
I suppose this woman never feeds her children, never bathes them, never lets them play in the yard, never drives them anywhere, has no pets, never......
I spend a lot of time worrying about my kids being shot.
