I have said for at least a year that Stevens’ death was an accident, the result of a distraction or feint that turned into a firefight unexpectedly.
The target of the enemy soldiers in Benghazi was the so-called “annex” (which wasn’t annexed to anything), and especially the building there called the “warehouse”.
The rumble at Stevens’ house was intended to draw defenders away from the target, which it did.
The enemy commanders just didn’t expect Navy SEALs.
