TRANSCRIPT: Hello everyone, I’m Michelle Obama, and on this Mother’s Day weekend, I want to take a moment to honor all the mothers out there and wish you a Happy Mother’s Day.
I also want to speak to you about an issue of great significance to me as a First Lady, and more importantly, as the mother of two young daughters.
Like millions of people across the globe, my husband and I are outraged and heartbroken over the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian girls from their school dormitory in the middle of the night.
This unconscionable act was committed by a terrorist group determined to keep these girls from getting an education – grown men attempting to snuff out the aspirations of young girls.
And I want you to know that Barack has directed our government to do everything possible to support the Nigerian government’s efforts to find these girls and bring them home.
In these girls, Barack and I see our own daughters. We see their hopes, their dreams – and we can only imagine the anguish their parents are feeling right now.
Many of them may have been hesitant to send their daughters off to school, fearing that harm might come their way.
But they took that risk because they believed in their daughters’ promise and wanted to give them every opportunity to succeed.
The girls themselves also knew full well the dangers they might encounter.
Their school had recently been closed due to terrorist threats…but these girls still insisted on returning to take their exams.

Why not blame the kidnappings on a YouTube video? That seems to work.
Susan Rice can be deployed to all the Sunday morning talk shows to blame it on a YouTube video, Star Trek DVD, or anything you like.
I wish they would say out loud that we are seeing Islamic terrorism.
This goes far beyonf some unnamed “grown men” depriving “young girls” of an education. Listening to this, you would swear that some generic group of men, who don’t believe in women’s lib, decided to kidnap girls.
I don’t recall her ever being elected.

I felt the same when when Laura Bush gave the Saturday radio weekly address after 9/11. The ladies need to stick with cutting ribbon and leave the work to the men elected.
She didn’t say ‘Islamic’ terrorists, so it turns out that Barack could’ve done this radio address afterall. Oh wait, he can’t even bring himself to say ‘terrorist’, only ‘act of terror’ because the latter doesn’t imply Islam.
In her mind they are not Islamic terrorists they are brothers.
Exactly, I noticed that too, the way she words it minimises just what is happening here. It’s as if she compared it to the phony “war on women” they accuse conservatives of waging.
Just wait until they realise that a majority of the girls are Christians, we’ll never hear another word.
It is still and always all about her.

Their intention is to promote this idea.
They may well believe it. As practical atheists, they can’t comprehend religious motivation.
I think these idiots in Washington believe terrorists give a rat’s ass what they believe or do.
Notable for the glaring omission of the words “Islam” “jihad”, “Boko Haram” and especially what the words “Boko Haram” mean.
If the KKK had committed the act, she would not hesitate the name of the group.
The person who wrote the headline is in trouble. It’s supposed to be The First Lady, the LOVELY Michelle Obama. The name “Michelle” cannot be written unless “Lovely” is in front of it.
