He should be FORCED by historical and preservation groups, conservative radio talk show gurus and public opinion to PROVE that the panels present no fire hazard to this historical building.

I was just reading up on "solar panels" and one sentence stood out...."solar panels have a tendency to overheat and great care must be taken to prevent this problem."

Do you know if there there issues with their weight? I thought that any upgrades or modifications to buildings on the historic register had to get all kinds of approvals for appropriatemess, engineering, building integrity and architectural studies etc.
