White House press secretary Jay Carney could not offer a tangible reason to explain why it took the Obama administration two years to label Boko Haram a terrorist organization Friday on MSNBC.
He cited a number of lesser measures the administration implemented to address the group’s heinous acts, but stopped short of stating what kept Boko Haram off the State Department’s terror organization list between 2011 and 2013:
KRISTEN WELKER: It took two years for that to happen from 2011 to 2013. Why did it take so long?
JAY CARNEY: The fact is we have been working with Nigerian government and others in the battle against Boko Haram and other organizations like it and we’ll continue to do that. That predates any designations of individuals or of the organization itself. What cannot be forgotten is that the responsibility for these heinous acts lies entirely with Boko Haram and its leaders. This organization is hideous in its intentions and incredibly dangerous and already responsible for something like 1,000 deaths this year, from what I understand. And we’re going to work with all of our partners, including most especially the Nigerian government to combat this organization and its leaders.
The terrorist group bombed the Abuja U.N. headquarters in 2011, but the State Department under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton resisted labeling Boko Haram as terrorist organization for two years.

I think the reason is pretty obvious why it took so long... it wasn’t politically expedient for them to do so.
Maybe they had the VA working on it.

But slaughtering Christians while in church is no biggie. I am ashamed of what this country has become.
One wouldn’t want to rush to judgement on fellow Muslims. Probably had to consult Saudi Arabia, CAIR, etc. before making a rash decision.

WASHINGTON — Alliance Defending Freedom and Jubilee Campaign, together with several other concerned organizations, are again formally requesting that the U.S. State Department designate the Nigerian jihadist group Boko Haram as a “foreign terrorist organization.”
Boko Haram is responsible for killing an estimated 3,000 Nigerians and citizens of 15 other countries—primarily Christians—in the last four years and has acknowledged it has ties to al-Qaida and al-Shabab. A 2012 terrorism report posted on the State Department website ranks Boko Haram second only to the Taliban among the top 10 perpetrator groups with the most attacks worldwide.
“Those who continue to wantonly kill Christians solely because of their faith should not be tolerated when available steps can be taken to curb this kind of genocidal terror,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Chief Counsel Benjamin Bull. “Boko Haram is eminently qualified to be designated as a foreign terrorist organization. We encourage the State Department to make that designation sooner rather than later so that fewer people will lose their lives needlessly.”
Jubilee Campaign and Alliance Defending Freedom co-authored the formal report and petition submitted to Secretary of State John Kerry after a report and petition filed last year with his predecessor, Hillary Clinton, received no response. A shorter version of the new petition is available through Saturday on the White House website for any concerned citizen to sign.

This is a question that really needs to be explored, especially before Hillary Clinton coasts into the Presidency with the help of a compliant media and corporatist interests.
Why is it that thirteen years after 9/11/01 the government of the United States is repeatedly bending over backwards to appease Islamicists? I can entertain the possibility that Barack Obama is genuinely sympathetic to Islam, but not the Clintons. The only thing those people deeply believe in is enriching themselves.
My guess is that there is one hell of a lot of cash coming to Washington DC from the direction of Saudi Arabia.
My question is why did this country elect a radical America hating muslim president almost exactly eight years after radical America hating muslims killed about 3000 of our contrymen?

You are right. Zer0 is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and AQ related organizations in Egypt, Lybia, Syria, and has not confronted their terrorism in all of Northern Africa or Iran. Hillary had the daughter of the head of the Muslim Sisterhood as her chief of staff. These leftists in power now just seem to love evil.

Renenber that Hikkary had Uma Abedin on staff , her mother an executive of the Muslim Brotherhood, and Obama himself has Muslim Brotherhood members on the White House staff.
