Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Thursday morning said he supports an increase in the minimum wage, breaking with many Republicans who have stood against it.
I, for instance, as you know, part company with many of the conservatives in my party on the issue of the minimum wage. I think we ought to raise it, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee said. Because frankly, our party is all about more jobs and better pay.
Romneys comments come after Senate Republicans rejected a vote on a Senate bill that would have increased the minimum wage to $10.10. Recently, though, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, both of whom also ran for the Republican nomination in 2012, said they supported some increase in the minimum wage.
In a wide-ranging interview Thursday on Morning Joe, Romney again reiterated that he isnt running for president, mentioned some of his favorite potential GOP presidential candidates in 2016 and criticized Hillary Clintons record as secretary of State.

More like hes SEVERELY abusive to conservatives...
How about cutting spending?
Unfortunately some of the finer points of political strategery escape a lot of people.
So basically you’re saying it’s ok to lie in order to get elected?
Had Romney won, the Gang of 8 amnesty would be law by now.
And good for him, let him enjoy his money with his family. I’m all for it. A lot of people born with the silver spoon continue to go back to it their whole life. Romney made his own money. It beats 0 enjoying our money with Jay-Z. But don’t you dare, Willard, magnanimously pander to the working man when you’ve only read about us in books.
ANY Federal Regulation of Wages is Federal Wage Control.
ANY Federal Law establishing a minimum or maximum of wages is Federal Wage Control.
Federal Wage Control began during World War Two, by edict of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
To put all this in a context that even Obama and his labor-loving Democrats can understand, (but maybe not Socialist Republican Romney), read and then deal with the following:
“FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT IS DEAD, AND WORLD WAR TWO IS OVER!”
His 47% statement wasn’t true, and didn’t make sense, it was why his campaign could never explain what “47%” he was talking about or what in the world he meant.
Excellently well said!
Toy know what this thread needs? It needs the attention of all the ‘staunch conservatives’ that attacked Freepers on FR for not electing this paragon of conservatism.
They need to pop in to tell us what ‘POS’ we are again and how we ‘voted for Obama’ by not voting for Mr. Severe Conservative here. Perhaps a picture of Yosemite Sam on a dragon to definitively show the wisdom of their position and the emptiness of ours.
In the meantime I guess we just add yet ANOTHER bit of evidence to the FACT that this guy is not only not BETTER than Obama, but that he IS Obama. Because I see no difference in their respective positions.
