A lesbian preacher in the United Methodist Church is being given a free ride.
After a complaint was filed against Sara Thompson Tweedy of New York, the matter was considered and the case dismissed. There will be no prosecution.
Rob Renfroe of Good News, an orthodox renewal United Methodist group, says there's no mistake about Thompson's lifestyle.
"She's very up front that she that is married to another woman " tells OneNewsNow.
Renfroe describes her as a "proud, active, self-avowed lesbian."

More of the great apostacy unfolding before our eyes.
I have no problem with welcoming sinners into any church congregation, but they should not be advocating their sin from the pulpit.
Here is yet another “organization” gone off the rails. It is so easy to do when the organization becomes some “thing” rather than just a gathering of believers with elder believers watching over. There was no “membership” in the early gatherings, no central headquarters to “appoint” or “ordain” those who would toe a party line. There were simply those mature believers who taught, watched over, and got replaced (and asked to leave) when they deviated from the Gospel.
Evil on display, everyday.
Moral strength in any one church builds and buttresses strength in all; moral collapse in any one church, weakens all the rest.
There’s a split coming, it’s simply a matter of who leaves and who stays. It would be nice if the liberals had to leave for once.
Fixed it.
I believe this is the same bishop (New York) who refused to hold a trial in the case of a UMC pastor who officiated at a same-sex wedding.
I wonder how much the laws of the state of NY come into play.
So has the Methodist Church gone politically correct on us?
We know that the homosexual is at the top of the pyramid of officially recognized grievance groups. So, a homosexual woman is protected from any criticism or sanction due to that.
I think that the emergence of open homosexuality, and homosexual marriage, is going to be a major flash point of aspects of religious freedom. Splits in churches may be inevitable, as churches now have to decide if they want to embrace homosexuality and homosexual marriage.
The splits will happen. If churches embrace the homosexuality, then they will lose some members to other churches which still hold to traditional values. If churches do not embrace homosexuality, they may lose some members who want the church to “change with the times” and become liberal on the homosexual issues.
In any case, we will see some big changes in our church communities, because we now revere and honor homosexuality in our culture. Some in church think this is a good thing, others will still want traditional values represented in the faith community they belong to.
She does not look like a dykes on bikes type so all is well
They won’t.
The UMC Leadership, the ELCA, the Episcopal Church leadership and the Prebyterian Leadership are in bed with these people because they really believe it.
The leadership has become a “post-Christian” church.
Only the Orthodox Churches, the Catholic Church, and the Evangelicals, with a few smaller Protestant Denominations any longer follow the Bible. Throw in the Mormons and Orthodox Judaism and you have the only bastions for Judaeo-Christian morality left in America.
As for the western European Socialists, they abandoned their Christian roots a long time ago, which is why they have become fertile ground for the Muslims
Speaking of dykes on bikes, this language reminds me of how only certain people can use the “N” word.
Homosexuals are allowed to say “dyke” or “queer” or “homo”, but you and I will be banished from life if we use those words.
Dykes on Bikes is the name their group goes by, so they clearly embrace the dyke word. I wonder if anyone else is allowed to use the name of their biking organization, even though they call themselves by that name?
You can be sure that any church group/denomination which drops the biblical requirement for male-only ordination has removed the bottom from the pit. It’s a certainty.
There should be some form of patent on the name "Methodist." Someone should sue within the Methodist councils, using Wesley's Plain Account of Christian Perfection as a basis for rejecting non-Methodism and those who don't want to follow it.
I have recently been in a small group studying the catechisms of Martin Luther. The larger Lutheran (ELCA) group in the U.S. has also been going down the "progressive" political drain. At a recent regional Lutheran meeting, the bishop got up and gave a rousing call for "Change!" in the church, asking the entire assembly to shout out, "The church must change!" I shouted out, "The church must never change!" -- to the appalled looks of those seated nearby.
This is the point: technology changes. Outward circumstances change. But the gospel does not change. The hearts of man have not changed, and cannot change without surrender to Truth. Truth does not change. The Reformation was not about change in the sense of going "forward" to something new under the sun; it was about stripping away the frills and corruptions and returning to the origins of the Apostolic faith.
There is nothing inherently good about change for its own sake. Like abortion, change has been enshrined as an absolute value by the useful idiots, who fail to recognize that it only means destruction of their freedom and elevation and enrichment of the elites, at the expense of the common man. Christ came to lift up our hearts, minds and souls, unifying Christians regardless of our income, sex, or ethnicity. Marxism divides and enslaves.
Its already ripped much of the Episcopal Church apart.
That’s why I have very little use for the UMC . . . they’re non-biblical on abortion, homosexuality, and sex before marriage. They’re more interested in the number of seats they fill rather than the number of souls they save.
