Just received a call from one of his friends in Florida. Gonzo (Barry Lee) has passed away, He was a long term member of FR and was proud to be with us at the March for Justice in 1998. He was a veteran and a patriot and has always been a loyal friend and will be greatly missed.
Prayers for his family and loved ones.
God bless.
I had an extensive correspondence with Gonz over music, specifically the Everly Bros. I still have a CD with their version of Green River on it that he generously made for me.
Goodbye, good friend. Here’s hoping you’re halfway to Heaven with Paradise waitin’, just five miles away from wherever you are.
Another friend has gone to Heaven.
Actually my memory is pretty bad
Class of 98
RIP
Rest in Peace Gonzo, sorry to hear this too.Prayers for his Family and FRiends,Fatima (((((Hugs))))
I’m so sorry to hear we lost our dear Gonzo and join in earnest prayer for the family and loved ones, God’s blessing, peace and guidance as they deal with his homegoing.
Very sad news. Gonzo will be missed.
Rest in Peace Gonzo
Rest well Gonzo.
Thank you for your service.
Prayers for his family, but Gonzo, as much as you’ll be missed buddy, wouldn’t wish you back into this hell.
The Lord needed another warrior, so He called a good one home.
A sad day indeed. RIP Gonzo.
I know that it has been a long time since he was a “regular” here.
He had a unique sense of humor.
.
RIP Gonzo.
Prayers for your family.
Rest In Peace.
Gonzo drove way out of his way to collect Sara and I, to meet up with a group of fellow Florida Freepers, when my car wouldn't allow us to travel that far otherwise.
He let me buy him breakfast, but would not let me pay for my share of the gas.His excuse was that he hadn't drove us in the “good car”.
He was a living example of the type of polite gentleman I told my daughter still existed, and we talked a lot during the long road trip about his early life and work in Canada/Michigan, his wife and family, his love of music, and his former company and current pets.
Prayers sent to comfort his wife and family.
I didn't know him personally beforehand, but he went well out of his way to help me get to that event.
If anyone has any information on his funeral, I would appreciate a FReepmail.
RIP Gonzo.
Prayers for Barry Lee and his family.
Rest In Peace Brother.
Our hearts are melting here in Florida after learning the sad news. Sympathy to his family and friends.
We'll miss you so much, friend, freeper and patriot.

Heavy heart and blurry eyes right now, friend.
