She’s looking for a reason to walk out.

Walking out is not necessarily a political winning strategy. Me thinks the demoRats are caught in a dilemma.

Good catch. I hadn't thought of that.

They've done it before.

Good, let her walk out. Let them stage a total walkout and parade down the Capitol steps. Let them march off to Maryland and hide in Steny Hoyer’s basement. Let them rot there.

The Democrats are scared. That initial ploy that “we will not participate” fell flat. Still it will be very difficult to defend a obvious deception. Those emails were devastating. Period.

I agree that Pelosi is looking for a pretext to walk away, but consider this:

By saying, “Give us equal representation,” she’s ALREADY agreed in principle to proceeding.

If she tries to hang the Dems’ walk-away on the GOP’s refusal of her “equality” demand, it won’t work, not even with the lefty media. The GOP has 233 seats to the Dems’ 199. If the GOP offers, for example, a makeup of 12 GOP and 10 (or, generously, 11) Dems, I think Pelosi now HAS to take it or expose herself as the unfair one. She painted herself into a corner.

Don't think so.

If they boycott the GOP will have free reign to call whomever they want and ask whatever they want 100% of the time.

Pelosi won't want that which is why she proposed what she believes to be the lesser evil...equal representation.

Like the Fleebaggers did in Wisconsin. Just like the D's to talk trash, strut, and make a show of things, especially when their case is kaput.

Let her and all the Dems walk. That’s been a losing strategy since just before the election of Abe Lincoln as President. I’d like to see Democrats boycott the next dozen elections.

Fine. Let her walk. Better than Trent Lott's "power sharing" fiasco.
