BTW, Trey Gowdy doesn’t even have a Democrat opponent. But I’d like Democrats to really target Gowdy this November as retaliation—maybe they can run another of Stephen Colbert’s sisters ... this time as a write-in.
It would be satisfying but I guess they have to be “above it all” or something silly! :)

This kind of garbage is one more thing that can be laid at the feet of John McCain. When the senate was 50-50 with a republican vice president casting tie breaking votes, McCain allowed co-chairs on all of his committees.
Their plan is simple. They will accept assignments to the committee. Then on the first day they will walk out in protest calling it a political witch hunt. Then all of the witnesses will refuse to testify saying it’s not a legitimate committee. And, of course, the media will cover for them.
From that day forward every dumb ass liberal in the country will be screaming “Bush lied about weap....uh...this is a witch hut! Yeah, that’s the ticket!”
Its been a long time since I have heard a GOP congressman speak with such conviction.

You are so right about congressman Gowdy!
He is genuine in my book until he proves otherwise.
Having worked as a prosecutor for many years, he is
well honed on interrogation skills, so is ideal for this new job.
Also, he avoids impossible to win stunts such as
Ted Cruze’s attempt to defund Obamacare. DO not get me
wrong, Ted Cruze is a great conservative senator. Just
not sure if he can win a national race.
