Still Soft after Half a Billion Years?

by Brian Thomas, M.S. *

Original soft tissue fossils are revolutionizing our understanding of how and when fossils formed. Secular researchers have described dozens of them over the years, from mummified skin and hemoglobin to dried up retinas—all in rock layers designated at least tens of millions of years old.1 The science of tissue decay does not permit these long ages, calling into question the "age" of the most recent discovery: original, pliable, marine worm tube tissue found in Pre-Cambrian fossils.

What is a "Secular Reseacher" - one without any preconceived ideas?

Also - there is a Mitch McConnell, John Boehner joke somewhere in the statement of calling into question the "age" of the most recent discovery: original, pliable, marine worm tube tissue found in Pre-Cambrian fossils.....

The science of tissue decay does not permit these long ages,

That's a laugher. Tissue decay is not governed by the science or scientists who study it.

That's like saying "The Earth continues to revolve but the moon does not permit that, calling in to question Johannes Kepler's body of work."

A better constructed phrase would have been, "These extremely long ages of tissue decay do not fit with previous observations of the process, calling in to question..."

I have a friend who is head of a physics dept. and has lectured at Fermi lab. He says that any scientific theory should begin with “At our present level of ignorance we assume that..........”

Other publications cover the issue of soft tissue preservation. There is a good article in Scientific American that requires buying the issue, but Live Science gives a shorter version of scientific inquiry into the phenomena.

Place this junk in humor, or don’t post it at all. It shows total and willing ignorance or stupidity to post such useless fabricated crap here.

Here's a testable Biblical hypothesis: watering pure colored animals in troughs that have peeled sticks will make speckled offspring.:
37 And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

38 And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.

39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.

Is your faith strong enough to try the test?

Would you post the book and chapter please? I’d like to read the whole story in context. Thanks.

There are no Twinkies.

They could survive a nuclear strike, but not a union strike...

One day, the young doctor meets a patient who swears that he is dead. In fact, he swears that he’s been dead for years. This poor patient is somewhat delusional, obviously, but the young doctor thinks that some cognitive therapy might help. Surely, he could talk this man out of his delusion.

So, he sits the man down and asks him, “You’re dead, eh?”

“Yes,” the young man replies, “been dead for years.”

“Tell me,” the doctor replied, “do dead men bleed?”

The young man answered, “No, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a dead man bleeding. That wouldn’t really seem possible.”

At this point, the young doctor recognizes he has found the solution. One can almost see the glimmer of hope in his eye as he pulls a sterile hypodermic needle from his kit, requests the man finger, and pricks it with the needle.

Imagine his face, however, when hears the man exclaim, “Well look at that! Dead men DO bleed.”

(parallel: Soft tissue DOES last a million billion quadrillion years!)

They can’t seem to understand that the debate about origins requires faith, on both sides.

“Dinosaurs died off 65 million years ago.”

“But we just found soft tissue in dinosaur remains.”

“Then tissue can remain soft in dinosaur remains for 65 million years.”

They just can’t seem to bring themselves to admit that they weren’t there, and they’re interpreting their observations through a biased lens.

The text doesn’t actually state cause & effect. It states two happenings: the flocks conceived before the sticks/rods, & the flocks brought forth speckled, brindled and spotted offspring.

Elsewhere the text says that God was responsible for the outcome:

[Jacob speaking] ‘I’ve worked for your father with all my strength, 7 yet your father has cheated me by changing my wages ten times. However, God has not allowed him to harm me. 8 If he said, ‘The speckled ones will be your wages,’ then all the flocks gave birth to speckled young; and if he said, ‘The streaked ones will be your wages,’ then all the flocks bore streaked young. 9 So God has taken away your father’s livestock and has given them to me.

10 “In breeding season I once had a dream in which I looked up and saw that the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled or spotted. 11 The angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob.’ I answered, ‘Here I am.’ 12 And he said, ‘Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. 13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land.’”

Genesis 31: 6b-13

Jacob placed the rods before the flocks, but God gave the outcome.

They're indestructable, they survived the union strike, too.

They've been back about a year, now.
