I voted at 7:15 and there were already 15 votes. Voted for Brannon in NC. Please use this thread to note activity, etc. for this day of primaries.
17% in now and Tillis is down to 45%.
It’s a race.
Sorry for the stupid question: does he have to reach 50% to win and below would be a run off? Thanks.
NC requires only 40 percent for a nomination. People there, post-Helms, are predictably inclined toward the large government candidates.
Got the answer. It’s 40% :-)
Thank you
45 percent is huge in NC. Senator Helms should have tried to groom a successor, but he believed in the “people’s choice”.
Just curious, if 2 get over 40% does it go to the one with most or is there a run off?
bump
Threshold is 40%, so if two candidates were to meet that threshold, the candidate with the most votes would win the primary.
That I don’t know.
AP called it for Tillis.

Time to unite behind who ever wins.
Real and important objective is to get rid of Reid as majority leader.
Not before one last shot: Most Republican voters are as stupid and gullible as Democrat voters. Bob
Near all-time LOW record primary turnout in Indiana.
People just too apathetic to give a damn, I suppose.

WTHR(NBC), WRTV(ABC), WISH(CBS), and The Indianapolis Star are not even noting that any R’s are running in this race, and election coverage, and only showing the Dem Totals!
Never before have I seen them do this.

Seems a bit premature for AP to be calling for Tillis to me.
Tillis has been strong in Charlotte/Mecklenburg County, Greensboro/Guilford County and military down around Fayetteville.
But, he’s only at 41% in Wake County, home of the state capitol, Raleigh and second-largest county in the state. Brannon is winning in Asheville/Buncombe County. Harris is doing well in the northwest corner of the state other than Wilkes County. Harris is holding Tillis back substantially in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County to the point that Tillis falling below 40% there is a real possibility before it’s all said and done.
One thing’s for certain, Tillis may appear to be the likely winner, but is not going to sail comfortably past the 40% runoff threshold, it’s going to be closer than it is currently, just under 45%. A runoff is not completely out of the question yet.
Absolutely right. The left loves nothing more than for conservatives to give up. All the commie leaders from Obama down are focused on some way to keep their majority, any way they can because they know if they do that none of them will ever pay for the horrors they've inflicted on the American people.
And they know that complete socialized medicine is a done deal. So fight conservatives, even if we lose some battles, we have to win this war.
