So if I don’t meet your standards of morality, diversity, decency or professionalism, I should have to sell off my private property? FRiend, that ain’t America, that’s Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia or worse...
I wish someone would force me to sell something for a billion dollars. Poor Sterling.
If you had a business partner who went crazy and started ranting about how sharia law should be imposed on the U.S., you might not try top force him out of the partnership?
That’s the way I see it.

Most public people, even movie stars, have enough sense to behave well. And, when given the keys to a SPORTS FRANCHISE he GIVES UP a great deal of his right to behave like an idiot. This is true of membership in ANY group, sports league (check the rules of MLB, the NFL, etc.) or not. He is more than welcome, I’m sure, to take the team “private” and start his own league. I’m sure, with the respect that you seem to have for private ownership, you can understand this freedom.
Then, he can do or say anything that he darned well pleases.
If you own a FRANCHISE rather that a pure private business then indeed you meet the standards set by the people in charge of licensing franchises. It’s very American, we’re the country that perfected the franchise system.
