BlahBlahBlahGate: Watch What Really Happened

Full title: BlahBlahBlahGate: Watch What Really Happened when We Kicked a U.S. Senate Candidate Out of Our Offices

(snip)

Maybe it was the part where Callahan rebuked our reporter Nigel Jaquiss for writing "blah blah blah" in his notepad while another candidate, Joe Rae Perkins, who was supposed to be talking about health care, was instead talking about eliminating the U.S. Forest Service. Maybe it was the bit where Callahan called climate change "a myth," and Jaquiss asked him, "Where are you on the Easter bunny?"

Maybe it was the way our "thin-skinned liberal" editors helpfully pointed the direction in which Callahan might find the door. (To our left, and to his right, of course.)

I know this event has been posted a couple of times. (maybe someone will link to the other threads).

But here in their own words is Mrs. Johnson's 8th grade journalism class explaining what they were doing while all of the adults were out of the room.

You really have to read their article to see them double down and add an extra helping of snark.

Also you should read the comments . They are getting hammered in the 700+ comments on their site.

when asked about the easter bunny, the politician should have said “I am all for it” and smiled at the guy.

These losers at WW are nothing more than click-bait trolls. Ignore them.

The time, when you were wise to avoid arguing with anyone who buys ink by the barrel, has past. These arrogant twits no longer have the final say.

Respond, “where are you on Jesus Christ and His believers?”

The other candidates should have left as well. Why would you want the endorsement of people such as this?

To call Willamette Week journalism is something of a stretch.

It's one of the sub-literate lifestyle magazines that caters to the smug, half-educated Portland progressive/communist/hipster set.

Why any Republican candidate would bother to speak to them is beyond me.

The best retort to any leftist argument might well be “blah, blah, blah”. It’s all they hear anyhow, and it cuts right to the chase.

Republicans need to watch their words on ‘climate change’, the libs new way of saying ‘global warming’. Don’t call it a myth, but if asked, just say, “the climate has been changing since the earth was formed, and humans never have, and never will, have any effect on it”.

Agreed. Just saying climate change is a “myth” is a poor response. Conservatives (especially those running for office- sheesh!) should expect this question and be ready to respond with something like this:

“The same government funded scientists told us before it was global cooling, then it was global warming, now it is ‘climate change’. This is a term that is so nebulous that they can claim their predictions are right no matter what the weather is - either hot or cold.

The climate is always changing, which is why vast areas of North America that were under thousands of feet of ice only 20,000 years ago are now ice free.

Doomsday predictors have been with us since the start of history. They have always been wrong and they have generally been regarded by educated people as kooks. We are not going to base public policy on the rantings of such people until they have a long and unblemished record of predicting climate or weather. They have not done so yet.”

I was grabbing lunch from a deli and after placing my order, turned around and looked down on a table: There was a stack of WW with you-know-who staring right back at me from the cover. I bent over, wrote my own markup on the cover of a few of them, got my food and left. When I got back to the office I spent part of my lunch making a digital version of that which I wrote out in the deli. I had to dig to find this...
