Pro-Russian separatists shot down two helicopters in a key eastern Ukrainian city, and fighting in the port city of Odessa triggered a fire that killed dozens, as the embattled nation moved closer to the brink of civil war.
Interim Ukraine President Oleksandr Turchynov said "many" pro-Russia rebels have been killed, injured and arrested in a major offensive to regain control of Slavyansk, though it was not clear if the Kiev-backed forces had succeeded. Russia reacted angrily to the offensive by Ukrainian security forces, calling for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council after a spokesman for President Vladimir Putin warned it "effectively destroyed the last hope for the implementation of the Geneva agreements."
In the Black Sea port city of Odessa, Ukraine's third-largest city, a fire that broke out in a trade union building amid clashes killed 31. Fighting there represented another ominous milestone in the conflict that threatens to become a full-blown civil war, as Odessa holds huge historic significance for Russians and Ukrainians alike.

I tracked down the fellow...Barbossa/Bruski or whatever his name is, who set Putin up to run for Pres.... Then Putin booted his butt out of Gov and Russia, though he claimed he “left”...In another country he opened his yap far to often...dead now..... He financed the Orange revolution to get back at Putin for boosting him out of the adminstration and ties with his wealth in Russia. Though the guy was really seeking the power. He wanted to be Pres. but it backfired on him with Putin.
As of today Ukraine is finished. All that remains is the ending.
You can argue about snipers but a whole lot of unarmed people were burned alive and physically blocked from leaving a burning building. As they jumped to their deaths the crowd was laughing.
These are the kind of savages the US is aligned with.
The Svoboda/Pravi Sektor fans also beat some of the ones who jumped from the burning building when they hit the ground. I’ve seen some photos, there are a lot of them and video. Coudn’t stomach watching the suffering on video.

That’s what is the really worrying thing. Putin is a VERY smart guy. And far from a nice one. He understands the way the world works and is not afraid to wield power.
what abject moron in their right mind wants to take on Vlad Putin with Bhenghazi Barry at the helm? Not just in war. In anything? How insane does one have to be to saber rattle when this is what we have to work with/lead us?
I said it in a go around yesterday. Sure we have a military...that will never be allowed to fight, hobbled by rules of engagement guaranteeing they die. We have a state/foreign policy that has made enemies of all allies and really tweaked the rest.
As long ad Barry rules, we are adrift. Every move we made under his misleadership hurts us/helps them, whoever them is at the time.
So how do we do anything but come out screwed until he is gone? How? Who wants us there in any capacity?

Correct - They are REBELS, not TERRORISTS.
For the Ukraine government to call them “rebels” means to admit they are shooting their own citizens in a Civil War.
